A ball-carrier dives toward the goal line, one or both arms outstretched and holding the ball, trying to break the plane.  Touchdown?  Or...fumble, and disaster?
This appears to be the newest form of showboating in football.  This, and diving forward across the goal line, turning a cartwheel in the process.  And, it's not penalized as "celebration".
The downside?  Remember some game-losing fumbles?  Two nights ago, a Miami Redhawks QB tried this trick against Bowling Green.  He took a terrific hit to the chest in the process, fumbling into the end zone.  Fortunately for him, and Miami, one of his teammates recoverd the ball in the end zone for a TD.
My advice?  Dive if you will, but secure and protect the ball in the process.  If the ball is declared down on the one-yard line, or the six-inch line, so be it.  If you can't score from there in the next four downs, you probably wouldn't have won anyway.
