As I was watching the game tonight on the road, I ended up in a conversation with another gentleman. The guy was more interested in seeing tonight's Butler-Louisville hoops game and described himself as a huge fan of college basketball. He said he spent a few times over the past few years in Athens, Ohio, on business, the last time being a few days before last year's basketball NCAA tourney win over Georgetown. He said while he was having dinner in Athens several days before the Georgetown game he became involved in a conversation with a patron of the restaurant who told him
exactly
why and how we would whoop Georgetown in the NCAAs. (as in personnel and coaching strategy.) The guy I met tonight said after the other guy finished his meal, the man got up and left, and the bartender said: "Do you know who that was?" The guy I met tonight said, "No." The bartender said it was Frank Solich, a "great ambassador" of Ohio University, talking up the hardcourt Cats wayyy off clock.
Got Frank!
