It is a fine line.  Fight started in bar and then was taken outside.  Some people get punched, others get a gun pulled on them.

Best reason I can think of not to have concealed carry - too easy to be a "man."

Not sure what you mean by politics.  I was simply making a common sense statement which had nothing to do with politics or a party.  Now if you want me to tie the two together, I can certainly do that but if I do, we'll hear the train a commin'.

Sounds like Boo's brother doesn't shy away from confrontation.  Perhaps a silver lining of this whole ordeal (in Athens) is after getting the sh** beat out of him maybe next time he won't be as quick to "be the man" - someday, someone will have a gun.

Not 100% sure about Mississippi law, but if it's like Ohio, it's already illegal to carry concealed in a bar/nightclub.

What? It's illegal and people do it anyway?

I think we can all be sure that he is more interested in being ideologically pure than in making well-reasoned arguments

Who, Alan?  What a surprise.  Let me say, I'm not a gun owner and Second Amendment rights aren't that big an issue on my radar.  However, the be objective, I must report that nearly every study I've seen on the subject has found that the rate of serious crime goes down after concealed carry laws are passed.  And, in a similar manner, the crime rate went down in DC after the Supreme Count threw out their handgun ban.
