Was anyone else surprised on how lopsided the game was?  Looks like whoever does end up getting the MAC East is going to have a tough game.

Step back from the ledge fella's...Toledo was without Dantin and they still put up 30 in one half.  They only beat Western 28-21 and it was a back and forth game to the end.  As I said in another thread, this is not the same Ohio squad that lost to Toledo in any aspect.  I really don't think folks are appreciating how talented this team is even without pre-season All American's on both sides of the ball.  I'm not sure where all this Husky adoration comes from but you can count me out.  I see no reason we can't play with them especially on a neutral field.

That being said...It's obviously putting the cart before the horse so here's to beating Temple about the head, neck and shoulders with their own pudding pop stick!

I saw northern in person once this year and they looked pretty good. Of course they were playing Akron and  all but Indiana has looked good playing the zips this year.

Here is my take on Toledo...they were leaving holes in both the O-line and D-line that were big enough that people my size and speed (small body with average speed) could make a big play.  If we play Northern Illinois it will undoubtedly be the hardest game of the year but we were also saying the same thing about Miami...that it was going to be a hard game and we ended up embarrassing them.  We may get shut out, we may barely lose, we may barely win, we may shut them out (if we play them)...nothing's decided until that game clock hits zero.

True, anything can happen. but I think there was always suspicion that Ball was a paper tiger that year. NIU seems to have proven over the course of the whole season that they are the best and most physical team

I think Northern Illinois pretty well has established itself as the team to beat in the MAC, but I don't think the Huskies are that much better than Ohio or Temple. NIU has had some bad games. Last night was a good game against a team that was not at full strength. Either the Bobcats or Owls will have a chance at beating them. I'd still give Ohio a better chance in that one should it come to fruition than it had in the two against Central Michigan.

OhioStunter, I agree totally.  The student apathy on this campus is getting to be somewhat appalling.  Tonight, watching the Miami-BG game the fog is making it hard to tell how few people are in the stadium.  I hate to say it, but the NIU students could serve as role models for our students.

Ever been to DeKalb?  The city sits right on I-88 a major interstate, has 46,000 people, and 25,000 students, and located less than an hour from the 3rd largest city in America.  When you enter the town from any direction you are greeted with very large signs declaring this is "Husky Country".  Street poles are decorated all through town in the Red and Black, and about every marquee wishes the Huskies good luck.  That city has way more civic pride in their institution than the town of Athens.

I've been to DeKalb. In fact, I live in the 3rd largest city in America and work right off of I-88. I don't buy that as an excuse for NIU fans to outshine Bobcat fans. I know our fans can do better. I've seen it. Plus, Husky Stadium is not really within walking distance of campus and the enrollment is very similar to Ohio's. I do agree that DeKalb probably does a better job of showing support in the community.

Well they are obviously doing something right.  Students are engaged, community gets excited, that is a good atmosphere, and we simply do not have that.
