C’mon we were playing with one hand tied behind our backs without Rourke. We needed everything to break our way and with the in game injuries on defense we had a huge mountain to climb made even harder.. This wasn’t a lack of effort deal today.

no gold. agree there is a fool involved. Teams that lose their league mvp quarterback late in the season to injury always usually can’t pull off a conference championship run. great effort. congrats coach and team. enjoy the bowl game.

This team, Coach and his staff have my full respect. As I learned to say in Chicago….”Wait ‘til next year!”

Close but no cigar.

If I’m one of those COVID extra year dudes I’m coming back.

Unfinished business.

Pretty good defensive effort. Hard to get the running game going with eight in the box. Unable to throw enough to keep them off balance. Just couldn’t go deep.

Now that I’ve had an hour and a half to dwell on the game- haha- honestly I’m impressed with the effort, especially defensively. Ohio was down two key starters in Keye Thompson and Torrie Fox yet hung in the and made life difficult for Toledo. Plus, they were on the field a good part of the game because the offense couldn’t move the ball.

And Toledo’s defense is no joke. CJ Harris is a decent QB who could get better with more experience but Toledo exposed him today as the 3rd string QB he is.

And despite what we thought, Toledo was playing possum the previous 2 games. I know BGSU’s a big rival of their’s but I wonder if the weather conditions were a big factor in Toledo’s sloppiness in that game (although I bet Candle lit into his defense afterwards).

AND, even with all that, I’m positive Rourke plays today and the results are much different. I mean all-in-all, Ohio’s a damn good team! How many of us would’ve said that 3 months ago?
