After thinking about the situation more, our offense needs to lean on the receiving corps. If they can continue to get open like they have all year, then Harris should be able to hit them. If he can't hit open targets then probably shouldn't be at a D1 school.

We have more talent and experience in that receivers room than we have in years past so hoping that they can make life a little easier for Harris. Just need to be able to do enough to keep the defense honest.

Also goes without saying, we need a big game from the O-line.
A concentrated week of catching Harris passes in practice should help. I'm sure that the receivers have worked with him in practices over the year, but now that he appears to be next man up...

From my viewpoint, the 3 drops I saw vs Balls were all catchable, if less than perfect passes. It's almost as if our receivers have become used to passes dropping perfectly into their hands with Rourke! We have some real studs in the WR room, so I'm confident they can adjust. I agree 100% on OL play. They need to keep Harris clean and comfortable in the pocket or bad things could happen.
Harris should have a quick trigger on tucking and running with it. Get the ball out quick or look to scramble.

That being said, we're doomed if Harris goes down.
Looks like Rourke will play.

I found Tim Albin to be pretty confident and relieved about Rourke's overall health (i.e. not an ACL tear), but I think it's a stretch to say he'll play as of yet. Being able to walk and put weight on it is one thing. Running an offense, running period, etc is a different story. He spent a lot of time talking about CJ and if I had to guess right now he's planning to have CJ under center.

If KR makes it through a couple practices I'll start feeling good about it.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I think with Bangura at his highest confidence maybe ever, and running like one of the best RB in the conference...

Throw in CJ's ability to tuck it and make a big play...

Wigs ability to catch damn near anything in bounds...

I think we can still pull off a big W.

The offense remains pretty dangerous to make a big play at any moment. They may not be the 30th ranked offense in the NCAA without Rourke, but BG's defense is pretty bad... 87th vs the run, 110 vs the pass.. they lead the country in sacks though (via Albin)?? Their offense is also pretty bad, 107th.

BG is clearly dangerous, and can dig into a bag of tricks to explode for a big day - but the previous five weeks they were averaging 10 points a game.

Let's hope we get that BG.

But they're gonna come into the game playing fast and loose. They'll probably take a lot of shots. Throw a lot of blitzes at CJ. They have 6 wins and the ability to make the title game. This is OU's game to lose.

Curious what they set the line. I'm thinking OU -4.5

If Rourke's injury is worth a TD then you might be in the ballpark. I'm thinking right now that Ohio will be favored by little more than that but we'll see. Sometimes a player loss in worth more than a TD but its pretty rare. The first one that came to mind that obviously was was Dennis Dixon with Oregon tearing his ACL against Arizona State in 2007. He was the Heisman favorite at the time.

Not in Athens, and the other team was not in a position to win, instead were about to lose their coach, but the blackest of Black Fridays that I can remember is 2010 when we went to Kent on Black Friday and lost 28-6, letting a Miami team we hda beat 34-13 go on to the MAC Championship and win it.

Next closest I can remember was a dark Tuesday in 2017 when we and Akron both had the chance to go and we went up there and laid an egg, 37-34, and a Toledo team which we had beaten 38-10 won their first MAC Championship in over a decade.

If you cannot tell by my post, I may be a bit anxious but just want to be able to see them guarantee this season mathematically and start preparing for Detroit.

I'd love to see the same kind of game plan we used against Miami. Pound the ball, control the clock, keep their defense on the field and wear them down. Bangura and the o-line is really effective right now, and that would take some of the pressure off Rourke if he isn't 100%.

We won time of possession (rounded) the last two weeks:

Ball State: 37-23
Miami: 42-18

I agree that ball control is important, but per the BG coach, the strongest unit on his team is the defensive line. Ohio will most likely mix things up and try to keep them off balance, rather than just pounding zone reads right at them. There are lots of things that can be used for that such as options, quick passing, roll out passes, screens, and reverses.

Based on what we've seen, I am confident that Ohio will have a sound plan for attacking BG's defense. I'm equally confident that if the QB is Harris, the play calling will be different than if Rourke is able to play.

So…..who’s bring their dog to the game?

[quote] BRING YOUR PUP TO PEDEN!

We need as many Bobcats fans at The Frank as possible on Tuesday including dogs!

Tuesday will be our Pups at Peden game where fans may fill out the form below to bring their dog to the game for no additional cost.

Fans bringing their dogs must remain in the bark zone on Victory Hill in the South End Zone and must have their dog on a leash at all times. Fans with dogs must enter through Gate 4 (gate located closest to Walter Fieldhouse). Fans may review more of the policies regarding bringing their dog to Peden within the Pups at Peden Form.

All fans have the opportunity to participate in Pups at Peden regardless if you bring a dog or not as fans may donate canned/dry dog food or snacks at the ticket office in exchange for free admission to the football game courtesy of head coach Tim Albin and his wife Brooke Albin. Donations will be given to the Athens County Dog Shelter.

Do dogs count toward attendance figures? And if so, do they count feet instead of heads (or butts) so that dogs count double?

I see Ohio -10.5 so I believe that Vegas has only discounted Ohio a point or two for Rourke's injury. I hope that they know something that we don't.

I see 7.5 now on ESPN. I still se 10.5 as the overall consensus average on vegasinsider but most sites don't have a line yet. Extremely unusual for there to be that kind of difference.

That's what makes CMH an international airport. When they first got that designation, it was because of a single flight each day to Toronto.

From what I can tell from the sites that track line movements it did open at 10, jumped to 10.5, then fell all the way to 7.5. I have not seen a 5. I sound like a betting man. I'm not. Its a fools game if there ever was one. But I watch lines when they come out because part of the reason that its a fools game is that the lines are about the best simple information out there on how teams relatively match up.
