Another almost meaningless list of something to talk about.... I guess we can all start getting our plane tickets and hotels for Boise.

Mark Schlabach (ESPN) Camellia Bowl East Carolina
Kyle Bonagura (ESPN) GameAbove Sports Bowl Michigan State
Brad Crawford (CBS) Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Colorado State
Jerry Palm (Palmbrackets) Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Air Force
Brad Crawford (247) GameAbove Sports Bowl Minnesota
Oliver Hodgkinson (PFNet) Bahamas Bowl Western Kentucky
Steve Lassan (Athlon) Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Colorado State
Pete Fiutak (CFNews) Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Colorado State
Joe DiTullio (gamehaus) Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Fresno State

Teamrankings gives Ohio an 81.2% chance to be eligible. The sum of their eligibility odds is 82.01. I believe that there are 82 postseason spots.

Boca would be nice. Haven't bowled in South Florida yet.

As much as I love the idea of Florida or some other place warm in December, that require a great deal of planning that the early bowls really only give a matter of days to do. Detroit? Detroit's easy. Short drive and an incredibly underrated downtown along with some amazing museums and culinary delights for the whole family. Heck, we might just do Christmas in a nice Detroit hotel.

I'll take the CFP, but Detroit is always a pleasant drive with quite a few fans that travel.

As always, I'd rather play in front of 20K fans in Detroit than 17 68 Ventures executives in Alabama.

I’d love to have a shot at another Big 10 opponent in Detroit the day after Christmas, I would almost definitely go, but I think we likely won’t get invited back there if we win the MACC again, so there is that.

Because of family commitments around Christmas I can only attend bowl games in late December or early January, like the old timeline of the bowl game in Mobile (under one of its various names). That worked great for me. Not a fan of the early bowls, but always watch my Bobcats on TV whenever they play, if I can't be there in person.

I'd prefer to beat the Gophers, as it would give me bragging rights over all my first cousins in the Twin Cities. At one point I had 21 of them there, but a few have moved away. That still leaves a boat load of them, not to mention their children, and even children's children. It's a big and well-known family in them thar parts.

I haven't checked this in over a month. Ohio is bowl eligible now. Teamrankings.com gives Ohio a 37.5% chance to win the MAC. The sum of their team bowl chances is 83.4%. There are 82 postseason spots. There is a pretty good chance of a few 6-6 teams staying home. We might actually need another won but if we don't win at home against UMass we probably have other concerns.

After the WVU game my outlook on the season was 8-10 wins. Too many miscues and kicking game to expect much more. At this point at least 8 wins is probable since you are talking about UMass and at least one more between WMU, Buffalo and the bowl game. After the Miami win Ohio is trending toward another 10 win season with a possible MAC Championship. Ohio could bowl in Detroit against an ACC school figuring they'll have an excess of eligible teams compared to the Big Ten which will place multiple teams in the playoff.

I like Brad Crawford's idea here:

Brad Crawford (CBS) GameAbove Sports Bowl Detroit Dec. 26 Minnesota

Simply because we'd give Sieh Bangura the chance to show Minny what they missed out on while he rides out in style.
