Yes. Seeing as two of our best players, Heidecker and Rice, came from D2, I would include. Thanks!

I do not know if there is an official NCAA Portal but how do we have no portal escapees? If it is accurate, cool!

Using the On3 link provided above (thank you).

Smith said at yesterday’s practice that all players were available to that point, but that things of course could change.

At this point, they all have their plane tickets, hotel reservations, etc. Probably not too much movement til after the bowl.

The fact that there are no Ohio players in the portal is proof that they want to play for Smith. It's time to get off the fence and hire him.

Can't disagree, as I said in an earlier post. However, I also said that I didn't think Julie would go that route. Really hope that I'm wrong.

Given how many left last year perhaps players are jubilant to have the former coach no more and now don't have to personally move to get away from him?

I think some saw what happened last year to a few guys that would have been mega stars if they stayed. Tyler Foster and Mason Williams would have been a dynamic TE duo this. Keegan Wilburn would be an explosive returner for us.

If you were against the portal last year, how do you feel about it in year two?

Didn't the majority of our transfers last year enter after spring ball? I'm expecting the same this year.

I don't disagree with this but oddly enough, if we keep all the guys who left and don't get any of the guys who replaced them, are we any better than 10-3 and MAC champs? I would say we wouldn't be. Tyus>Sieh; Owen>Jacoby; Williams>Foster; Heidecker=Danneker; Keye T>Leake (but not by a ton) and Torrie Cox>Dustin J (but not by a ton). Obviously Kurtis is better than Parker but Parker has won more bowls and more MAC titles than Kurtis so.......

I thought many of our transfers last year left after the last regular season game and before the bowl game.

The portal is open thru December 28. I’m waiting to see if -anybody leaves after the bowl game and if any of them move to charlotte. Will be an interesting period in the upcoming few weeks.

Besides Parker, my biggest worry is Bradley Weaver. He tested the portal last year - if we have any NIL money I’d try to cut him as good of a deal as possible.

Younger brother coming in as a frosh can't hurt, can it? And, I believe, his parents are Ohio alum, although I could be wrong. Still, a little NIL love can't hurt.

Eric Decker reports Ohio is the only team in FBS without a single player in the portal to this point.

In my best Sgt. Schultz voice, "Verrrry Interesting!" There appear to be many twists and turns to the Albin Soap Opera. Waiting for the final act.

One possibility is that all the grumbling/unhappy people left last year, and the team was simply "more fun" this year with everyone happy to be at Ohio. That's a very good thing about the portal; people don't have to stay where they don't want to be, so if they aren't happy, rather than grumbling, they can just leave.
Probably at least a few Ohio players will enter the portal after the bowl game, but for now, they want to stick together and have fun as a team for one more game.

L.C., I believe you're on to something. I'll pile on and add another potential factor for the lack of portal entrants thus far: Albin's botched departure on the night of the championship was no doubt a very challenging situation for the team. I think facing that kind of adversity as a unit may have galvanized them somewhat...a kind of "us against the world" mentality.
