I was very sad to see Carl leave the Bobcats but after last nights antics by Carl and Little Bro Bo maybe it is the best thing that could have happened.
I don't remember him having anger issues in Athens.  Breaking a guys camera on the field after the game is just plain ignorant, especially when the camera belongs to a sports reporter.

And the Nebraska higher-ups aren't too happy with Brother Bo:

I watched a good deal of this game.  I was rooting for Nebraska, in part because of the strong Ohio-Nebraska tie these days.  However, I thought Bo's antics were way over the top.  In fact, I remarked to my son that he looked like he was going for some Woody Hayes Memorial Sideline Tantrum Award.  If I had been officiating that contest, after the first warning, I would have thrown him out of the game.  He was an embarrassment!  And, I didn't even know about the camera breaking incident until I read this thread.

Wasn't there a similar problem last year with the Pelini's (sounds like The Flying Wallenda's-The Angry Pelini's)?

I never really understood why Ohio fans would pull for Nebraska simply because Solich came from there and that many of the Nebraska fans supported Solich.  That is nice that many of them have supported Solich and Ohio, but it is not a reason to support Nebraska in my mind.

Only because at Ohio the fish bowl doesn't have camera's trained on you 24-7.  Say what you want, coaching at Ohio has a lot of benefits, and lack of media is a big plus!

And to many Big Red faithful this has to be tough, as they are as polite a fan as you will ever meet, seeing a game there as a visitor is one of the few pleasant experiences you can still expect on the big stage.

I don't think you have the connection quite right. What Solich did was to bring the fanbases of the two schools into contact. I personally support Ohio because of the people I've met here. It's been fun.

Indeed, it will be interesting to see how they react to this. I know they would be very indignant if  this behavior came from an opposing coach.

Most knowledgable fan bases don't want to see their coaches making asses of themselves. While it's nice for players to know your coach is "fighting" for you, it's also not good when you coach players to maintain "control" yet you come off as a raving lunatic. Not Good  to come off as "deranged" when your the face of the program. Glad to see the NU President "publically" rebuke Pelini. I think coaches of all stripes need to get a little more Wooden and a little less Woody. Everybody would be better served.

If you want to read into the remarks of the Chancellor this is not the first time there has been this type of discussion with Bo.

What's so hard to understand?  Solich came from Nebraska, many members of our staff have Nebraska ties.  One can see aspects of Nebraska's offense in our offense, though admittedly Solich has greatly expanded his offensive repertoire since coming to Athens.  How is this much different from folks on this board who root for Wake because Grobe once coach here?  Personally, now that I've become acquainted with many of the fine Nebraska folks who post regularly on this board and  have come to understand the Nebraska philosophy ("in the deed the glory," etc.), I have come to admire Nebraska and Nebraskans.  And, as JCW said in a recent post, you won't find more polite fans in all of big-time college football.  That's why BP's tantrums yesterday we so disconcerting.  I thought for a minute that I had been transported back to Cowtown in the 1960s.

What aspects of Nebraska's offense do you see at Ohio?  Just curious?  Because last time I checked Frank had a fullback, ran a lot of lead and load, some trap, and a whole lot of off tackle power,  now you couldn't find a fullback on Ohio's roster with a private eye.

Oh, some of the "down line option" stuff that we run as well as certain aspects of the line play.  I'm sure others can add additional similarities.  Though, as you point out, there are lots of differences, too.

The entire Stoops coaching tree has rubbed me the wrong way for a while.

Mike Leach, Mark Mangino. Bob Stoops, MIke Stoops, Bo Pelini...not exactly what I'd want in a college football coach if I'm running an athletic department.

What you got against Youngstown Brian??  The real reason for my reply is your avatar...NICE....who is that in the middle sporting the old fashioned leather helmet.  While it would make sense for it to be Solich wearing a football helmet, he would seem to not fit with the rest of that crew and it kind of looks like TOS.

You know, I watched that game.  And, I was rooting for Nebraska since so many Nebraska fans root for us.  Its that simple.  Somebody roots for you.  Root for them.

I actually laughed at the melt down because that's exactly what I want my coach to do as a fan sometimes.  Sure, you just can't do that as a coach.  But, I've sat in the stands (and watched on TV) plenty of times and yelled for my coach to give more grief to the ref in both football and hoops.  So, watching the debacle unfold I kind of laughed and said, welp, that probably would be me after that call.....

The apology is enough in my book.  Accept it and move on.  But, if Pelini turns into a constantly obnoxious Bobby Knight type.  Well, then he won't last too long.  The Bobby Knight's of the world are certainly a thing of the past these days.

According to the Chancellor of the University this may be more of an on going thing early in the tenure of Bo.
