Much as an earlier thread.  This time involving Georgia and Louisville.  Georgia is dropping Louisville for Boise St. in 2011 and I believe a later year as well.  Call to Louisville perhaps?  Would be a great team to bring to Athens.  They would bring fans as well.  I am sure they were compensated for being dropped, so finances should be negotiable.

Ohio is going to Louisville in 2013, so I'm not sure how that would factor into negotiations for something like that.

I think the Cardinals are a team we should be able to get to come to Peden. Yes, they are a Big East school, but they haven't been very good the last few years.

I'd be in favor of dumping the New Mexico State series, renegotiating Louisville as a 1 for 1 (would save the Cardinals money) and addng Nebraska as a money game in 2013 as a replacement as the Cats have an opening in the schedule that season. Quite frankly the 2011 schedule could use some beefing up with FCS, NMSU, Marshall at home, and Rutgers. The cats won't have Boo next year or the D line but I doubt it matters that much with this Oline back next year. At worst I'd see the cats as an 8-4 team in 2011 so why not take a shot with Louisville?

Or keep NMSU and drop the FCS game.  You get a little more respect if you beat a bad 1A team than if you beat even a good 1AA team.

I'm just thinking high cost associated to taking the team to Las Cruces will be saved and its not like the the Cats have a signifcant fanbase in a place like El Paso that will travel in droves to the game. I would try to have Louiville on the road in 2011 since 6 home games are already on the schedule and then at home in 2013 replacing the FCS home game in that season.

FWIW, Louisville has already replaced the lost games against Georgia with a series against UNC.  They agreed to that as part of the deal to cancel the contract with UGA.

One thing I will say that until this program can consistently beat mid level BCS teams as the money game on the road there is no reason to increase the strength of the schedule. Frank only has 1 BCS win in 6 years.

Okay he has 2 BCS wins Pitt and Illinios and zero in the last 4 seasons. Unacceptable if Ohio wants to move this program into the top 25 of the BCS standings. And that is the next level after coming in at 37th in the BCS this week. Cats go 4-0 in the non conference schedule the next 2 years then its time to start demanding a better one.

Does the BCS rank more than 25? Am I looking in the wrong place?

Like all the polls, not officially.  However, both polls and all 6 computer rankings, as well as the formula are publicly available, so they're computed for each school who has a point (a vote in Coaches, Harris, or top-25 in any of the computer rankings) each week at some websites.

http://bcsguru.blogspot.com/2010/11/week-12-complete-bcs-...

As with the "others receiving votes" sections of the polls, they're as unofficial as our team being "34th" in the Coaches Poll.
