We'd be crazy to waste money on a Bowl Game playing like this.

Bowl organizers recognize this too.  If we get a bid, that bowl may as well fold.

At least we beat one bowl team this year...Fiami.  Terrible.

In today's bowl structure, deserving has nothing to do with going to a bowl.

And despite this, I still don't think we're going to a bowl.

This makes the earlier controversy even more heated if we back into a bowl game that we lose thousands of dollars participating in...

I'm glad some people are finally getting the difference between bowl eligible and bowl worthy... We aren't the latter...

What a disappointing end to the season.

8-4 we're definitely going to a bowl. And unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you think) it will be a better bowl and oppontent than if we had won. Sad but true.

I agree.  Plus, you can't overlook what the Cats have done since the Marshall game just because of a lousy outing today, no matter whay you think of the schedule.  And if OU isn't deserving, then neither is Fiami or Temps because, oh yeah, WE BEAT BOTH OF THEM.  So I think this team is deserving of a bowl game, and has a better chance of getting into one since Texas lost last night.  I just hope they bring the whole arsenal of plays instead of the five they used today.  And who's more deserving: 8-4 Ohio, or 6-6 Louisville who beat only two teams with winning records (same as OU)  or 6-6 UTEP who's beaten one team with a winning record and lost five of its last six, or even 7-5 Baylor who got fat on the likes of Sam Houston State, Buffalo, Rice and Kansas but lost the last three?

This team deserves a bowl game? That's a perfect example of why bowl games have become soo watered-down and the BCS was created...

Agreed.  120 Division 1A teams and 70 bowl slots.  The math equates to some serious diluted football down the ranks...

Perspective:
In1968 when we played Richmond there were 11 bowl games = 22 teams.

We go to the bowl game and we play so these seniors get a chance at what they've worked 4/5 years to obtain. The first bowl victory in school history. But for those who don't want us to go to a bowl do you not want the extra 15 practices that come along with that? Wouldn't that put us ahead of the other 8 MAC teams that didn't make a bowl for next season. Also, Since we are eligible for a bowl game but are not selected do we still get those 15 additional practices?

The frosted side of me likes your sentiments...

but the wheat side of me says they had their chance to get it done today, and it just didn't work out. Sometimes, you just don't get a trophy.

That's a lesson that should be a mandatory Tier 3 course for Generation Text...

YOU GO TO THE BOWL GAME FOR THE PRACTICES!

The extra 20 practices will go a long way to getting us better next year. It will also give us publicity for recruiting. Am I upset we lost to Kent? YES! Do I think we would've beat NIU? NO. I would rather us try for the Confrence title next year when we have a better chance at it. Some of these East teams are gonna be tough with their Frosh players becoming upperclassmen, and by goodness we need the practices to get a leg up. I hope it is some place the fans want to go to, against a decent opponent (not really a great one) and we get the victory so we can say we won a Bowl.

The extra practices agrument has become very old.  Many of us are trying to be realistic and objective and the MAC simply does not deserve three or four bowl teams.  If we are not good enough to host Virginia Tech and Northwestern at home as scheduled, then we are not legtimate in D1.

I dropped my season tickets after we gave up the Virginia Tech game.  I know, it was a financial decision for the benefit of the entire athletic department, but that is also why students don't take the program seriously and continue to follow theOhio State / Big Ten.

Really? You believe this whole heartedly? So you would prefer to let a 3-5 6-6 UTEP team in CUSA or 2 Big Least teams under .500 in their conference to make a bowl game over yOUr team or should I just say its my team? Well the system that has been created is what has created this outlook and until its blown up its how it will be. Oh and if you haven't noticed this same system has allowed 70 out of 120 teams to make a bowl game and with before the start of this weeks games i believe there was only 64 eligible and 6 were MAC teams. Oh and 1 last note it also is going to allow a 7 win UConn team that we hosted AT HOME last year to make a BCS game.

So my ground is if there was only say between 20-25 bowl games I would agree with you but there isn't and college football has more parody then ever before so saying the MAC doesn't deserve 3 or 4 teams leads me to give you no credence in my eyes.

Too many bowl games period!  Who have we beaten this year?  These marginal bowl games with tens of thousands of empty seats are a joke.

Everyone in the MAC East except for Kent.  Every MAC team on our schedule except for two and one of them is going to a bowl game and finished second in the West.  FYI- We play in the Mid American Conference.  We are clearly a Top Four MAC team.

Well, as long as there are this many bowls let's go to one. Personally, I think there should only be about 15 to 20 bowls, that means 30 to 40 teams. 2 teams from the MAC should go bowling, 3 if there is a team that really deserves it. Seriously, the practices are important. Get some fundraising, and what we really need is an Indoor Facility for all our athletic programs (Field Hockey, Soccer, Baseball, and Football)

Ohio will be going to a bowl game but it looks like they will be the third or fourth team to represent the conference, but correct me if i'm wrong the conference only has 3 bids. What if we get the short end of the stick
