I've gotten lost in all these threads.  As far as the most important bottom line, which is just being in a bowl, can someone please remind me which teams we need to root against Saturday to keep the number of bowl-eligible teams down?

Also, any thoughts from anyone on what Miami win does to our bowl destination possibilities?  I'm guessing this kills the hoped-for trip by Northern Illinois to Boise to face a good opponent, since it is no longer going to be ranked.  Or does it?  Maybe this still means Toledo to Detroit, Miami to Mobile, and NIU to Boise?  I am so confused!

Oregon State - Plays @ Oregon, ABC, 3:30pm
Washington - Plays @ Washington State, Versus, 7pm
Middle Tennessee - Plays @ Florida International, ESPN3.com, 6pm
Louisiana Tech - Plays at home vs. Nevada, ESPN3.com and the WAC Sports Network, 3pm

Those are the 4 with 6 losses so far on the year with games to play.

Oregon State and Washington, in that order, because the PAC-10 still has slots to fill.  The other two don't have much chance to get in at 6-6.

Thanks, anorris.  I hope we don't have to wait until 10 p.m. Sunday to find out if we're IN a bowl... let alone what bowl it could be.

I usually just wait for the corrupt disgrace of a system to play itself out.  One of these days I'll check bobcatattack.com and find out IF and where Ohio is playing in a bowl.

This sitting back waiting for someone else to lose is getting old.

Rivals says we get NIU in Detroit.

This conference really needs to make sure if anyone is the odd one out it is Temple...they are carpetbaggers AND they lost to Ohio, Miami and NIU.  Why in the world are they Bowl worthy?  Especially if it means that Ohio gets NIU.

This sucks!

Miami's victory further helps Ohio's bowl resume and the perception that we are the #3 school out of the MAC. The director of the Detroit Bowl said Ohio is a possibility. I could see Miami wanting Mobile and NIU wanting Boise to not have to go back to where they played the championship game. Ohio's chances at the Sun are looking pretty outside and depending upon the decision by the NCAA on Arizona State and a La Tech win sending them to New Orleans and Boise State to the Sun Bowl. I think its probably 50/50 New Orleans or Detroit depending on what Miami wants.

Wes...i think you are forgetting Toledo as a probable #3.  They did beat us on the field.  As you can see in my other posts the odd team out of the mix MUST be Temple.  The outcome of the final games AND the standings show the Top 4 in the MAC this year are Miami, NIU, Toledo and OHIO.  Temple must be relegated to #5 as they lost to 3 of those 4 teams AND ended third in the East Division.  If the MAC office doesn't push for this pecking order there is a serious problem in the head office!

And, here's a new one, NBC Sports says OHIO to the Armed Forces Bowl vs. CUSA/Army!

Temple may be considered a #5 but some websites have them going to a bowl and we stay home.

Temple fan here checking in to wish Good Luck to Ohio on securing a well deserved bowl invitation.  The Bobcats beat my Owls fair and square three out of the past four years and deserve a bowl invite.  It would really be unfortunate for Ohio or Temple to have to play another MAC team in the LCB.

MAC fans should be rooting for UCONN to beat South Florida today and win the Big East.  That would make Temple's victory over UCONN in September significant.  Temple will have beaten two of the three out conference bowl bound teams it played.  Obviously, the stronger Temple's case for making a bowl is, the stronger Ohio's should be.

This should be an interesting day for MAC fans.

It wouldnt hurt to root for Florida Atlantic against Troy either. Then it could make three 6-6 Sun Belt teams, further muddying their waters.
