In a couple minutes, I'm heading out to take a moonlit/starlit walk on the nearby nature trail. But first this question that just popped into my noggin: If a younger Vernon Alden were president of Ohio today, would Ohio still be in the MAC?

Those years were in a way the glory years of Ohio athletics. Coaches with long term histories, Wren, Blosser, Hess, Snyder, Huntsman, Gliders (?) and a Athletic Director from Northwestern who knew the big boys. And lots of All Americans. Too bad we didn't change conferences then, before the money escalation in college athletics has left us behind.

In the late 1960',s we were about to do it, but then came the riots and a HUGE dropoff in students. The Convo and the marching band are two testaments to what we were building in the late 1960's.

If OU had changed conferences back then, we'd be sitting around bemoaning the fact that the team "only" went 8-4 and was headed off to some sh*tty bowl against some half-a**ed opponent from some backwater conference.
Oh, wait...
