Teabagger.  It's ultraconservative and not very taxing.  (Apologies to those of the Tea Party because I know this may be considered a derogatory term, but the offense used in the four losses merits a derogatory term and this is appropriate.)

We have an offense with a lot more versatility than was shown in the four losses this year.  I hope the coaching staff showcases and exploits that versatility in every future game.  Having an entertaining offense and putting points on the board is one way to put more butts in the Peden seats.

Thank you, those 4 losses are the games Albin chokes in

Some stats for you guys
Toledo                              13 points  183 total yards
Ohio State                         7 points   158 total yards
Marshall                           23 points  331 total yards
KENT STATE                   6 points   183 total yards

Ohio Season Average     28 points   327 total yards

Some games the offense is always great but some games there not, but with Ohio were hit or miss. Albin calls poor games and costs this program year after year. Toledo game first mac game of the season and we needed to get the win but Albin crawls in his hole and panics. Ohio state Tim Albin continues his poor play calling streak in big games and continues to not give the players a chance. The Marshall game was fine we lost on a gamble. KENT STATE, TIM ALBIN WAS OUT COACHED AND KENT STATE A TEAM WITHOUT A HEAD COACH CRUSHED US. Once again Tim Quit on us and the offense should just be called Tim's Panic mode, because that's what he does when the moneys on the line. FIRE THE GUY PLEASE!

Sir, I believe that with you as OC Ohio State would have scored 77+ on our Bobcats. If you wonder how that happens see the Wisconsin/NW game. Sometimes you just live to fight another day. It was one game and there were many more to play. Kent was another matter. Ohio was not outcoached during the game, perhaps the coaches would have done something different before to make the team understand the threat Kent was. I believe you think Albin should have passed more. Are you aware that Kent sacked us seven times in the few attempts that were called and it seemed the receivers were dropping the ball when it was in there hands. As it was Ohio won TOP, just could not convert on 3rd down. Again there are things to work on this spring as there have been the past six or so. Ohio will get better, this I believe and better than this year will mean 2011 will be really fun.

I'm not sure about the first 3 losses, but as to the 4th, I have to tip my hat to Kent St.'s defense more than anything else.  Before the naysayers point out to me that WMU put up 38 points on Kent St., I would counter with that particular game of Kent's shows why Martin should've been let fired-when Kent St.'s defense plays up to its abilities, like it did this past Friday, it's among the best if not the best defense in the MAC.

From the outside looking in.....

It semed to us that the OC had zero confidence in Jackson to make a play in the Kent game and possibly with good reason. Still, way too many rushes at the middle of a Kent D line that had allowed 2.8 ypr going into the OU game.

If Kent had played with that much fire all year, Martin would still be employed. Pains me to say it, but NIU may have been the only MAC team that could have beaten Kent on that day.

Very good point.  Knowing the high achievement of kents' d-line we didn't do much to counter it...just kept on challenging it.

Perceptions. Tried enough of the other to allow what, seven sacks? Kent came down to the best red zone offense could not convert on third down. Kent did not get the memo about their losing this game.

Kent brought the pressure from the corners as well, when you are getting the pressure from the corner it is kind of hard to roll out.

There's a big difference between kind of hard to roll out and not even trying to roll out. The only roll outs I saw was when Bo was running out of the pocket to spare his life and then he made some big mistakes. Everyhting was between the ends, runs and drop backs. Too predictable and too conservative. If you don't have time to get guys open deep why do you keep sending them deep.

Hey, when a back runs for 29 yards on 5 carries in the opening drive and then only runs ONE MORE TIME the rest of the game--how are you guys saying we were running the ball too often?  Please go to the stats and read through every play and you'll see that Ohio didn't run often enough.  Kent=Sack Machine, so avoid passing down field at all costs.  Kent has a very very lousy offense that may not have scored more than 10 points on the Ohio defense if the offense hadn't given them point blank chances. Ohio on the other hand decides to drop back and count to 10 Mississippi before throwing.  If you asked the Kent coaches what they hoped Ohio's game plan was it would be that they hoped Ohio would drop back and attempt to throw the ball down field.

Getting sacked more times in a close game then your top ball carrier carries the ball is dreadful.

I was not there in person, so I can not attest to how deep any of our routes were.  I can attest though that roll outs are tough out of teams that are whipping your but on the corners, especially when you do  not have two backs in the house to storm the corner and offer a little help.  Bottom line Kent did what it  had to, their offense did not turn it over and they let their defense play.  When Kent's offense wasn't shooting itself in the foot they were in ball games.  Our offense was giving them short fields and our defense was not creating the turnovers or opportunities to help the offense.  When we did have good field position we missed a FG, and we made overall poor decisions on special teams that kept the defense in the hole all day long.

I call garbage on that, Wanny.

Did our coaches not know that kents brings it at the d-line, often with close up support from the linebackers and/or d-backs?  We just had nothing to counter that.

Okay.  Even if they didn't see that until it happened on the field (not a credible premise), why didn't they bring in an extra back or tight end to pick up some of the pressure from kents pass rush.  Maybe that's not a perfect answer.  But we didn't respond; we just succumbed.  We didn't adjust or respond at all.  I watched the game in L.V. with about 8 other Bobcats and we sat there numb all day as at no point did it look like we would win that game.  The only excitement was Carrie's punt return from midfield to the kents 20.

Otherwise, nothing.  No response at all.

Yeah, I admit we were probably going to lose that game.  But we didn't go down fighting at all.
