Now, I'm off to bed.  I have to get up early tomorrow morning to catch a plane to San Diego.  Will visit an elderly aunt and uncle there (aunt is father's last living sibling).  Then Sunday will take a ship to Hawaii for a two week cruise.  See you guys and gals latter.  I hope we get a bowl game after Christmas, otherwise I'll try to watch it on the ship or in Hawaii.   GO OHIO!

A few things I noticed. Miami is a totally different team with Bocher at QB than Dysert who often made bad decisions. Another major point that the annual hype about the MAC West being stronger than the East was just that. NIU had a solid win at home against Temple, not totally destruction but a solid win. Ohio lost a close game to Toledo at home early. Ohio was the only school though to beat the MAC Champion Redhawks and would have given NIU a run for their money in Detroit.

Bocher does look good.  Guess he never got the memo that as an experienced QB he was supposed to be nervous and rattle easily.

Off topic but still a greater than

Offensive Lineman IQ > QB

Miami OL on the failed extra point, catches a pass and immediately knows what to do with the ball turning and rumbling than stretching out for the goal and anyway possible attempts to get the ball into the end zone.  Who cares that it failed, he did everything right.

NI QB not knowing that the game is over if he gets sacked!  He could have had a Boo Jackson Marshall like moment but  instead doesn't even throw it!! (and Miami QB trying to spike on 4th down) this proves that compared to offensive linemen, QB's are plain knuckleheads.

OCF Logic: Ohio > Miami > NIU = Ohio worthy of Top 25?

Ohio State 43 - Ohio 7  /  Ohio State 20 - Iowa 17  = Iowa >Ohio ?

The only real positive we get from Miami winning the MACC is that our stock goes up as we beat Miami @ Oxford by 20. Same can be used with our win over Wofford, look at their final winning record.

71 Bobcat, I also think an improved Miami team makes future Ohio-Miami games that more interesting. Beating a 1-11 Miami team is nice. Beating the defending MAC champs is better.

Wofford goes on the road to Jacksonville State today in each teams first game in the FCS Playoffs today. Jacksonville State, you might recall, beat Ole Miss during the season. Wofford-Jax State might be the best game of the first round.

The true success of any program is consistant winning. Miami did have a very good 2010.
Let's see how they do next year and the year after.
I think it is always easier for a new coach to have initial success in year 1 then it is to become a consistant winner.

Its actually the second round, both had a bye through the first.  Also, that game starts in 25 minutes (noon, eastern) and is on ESPN3.com.

No.  The actual equation is NIU>Toledo>Ohio>Miami>NIU=No MAC team in the top 25.

Circular firing squad. The MAC's slogan should be- "The MAC, we'll meet you in the middle."

Miami > Northern Illinois > Toledo > Ohio > Temple > Kent State > Bowling Green > Central Michigan > Western Michigan > Eastern Michigan > Ball State > Akron > Buffalo

Or for the more adventurous:

Eastern Michigan > Ball State > Akron > Buffalo > Bowling Green > Central Michigan > Western Michigan > Kent State > Ohio > Miami > Northern Illinois > Toledo > Eastern Michigan > Ball State > Akron > Buffalo > Bowling Green > Central Michigan > Western Michigan > Kent State > Ohio > Miami > Northern Illinois > Toledo...

(Couldn't really fit Temple into this one)

Ohio > Wofford > Jacksonville State > Ole Miss > Fresno State > Illinois > Northwestern > Iowa > Michigan State > Wisconsin > Ohio State.

Thus, Ohio > Ohio State.

My brain hurts.
