Players were not told which bowl due to media privacy, but they are going....  to one before Christmas probably in a week or two.  That narrows it down.  Toledo is going to the Little Ceasars so you can figure it out from there...

I'm surprised they have to report tomorrow.  The game plan they used against Kent doesn't require more than a couple hours to put together.

What is with you?  That baggage you keep dragging around is ugly for a fan. Does it make you feel smart to be critical after a loss?  As of now there is a next game to focus on.  It is time to help get behind this team; players, staff and coaches.  The seniors have one more game in green, now, are you with them or are yoou enjoying that negative attitude?

Players and staff knew after Kent to "stay by the phone" when details arrive make plans.  notice may be a day or a week....best we could do!

Just being realistic.  We've seen the game plan come up short five times when it mattered most during the past four years -- four postseason games and last week at Kent.  Actually, I hope a little sarcasm will light a fire in somebody to get off their arse and let us see the team that won seven straight this year.

Sorry, it just comes across to the reader as mean-spirited negativism.  Trust me, no one would be motivated by your sarcastic observations.  Let's Go Bobcats!!

Maybe.  But the same is true of polyannaism.

Keep your sarcasm.  Give it a rest..  Those games were not lost on paper.  In each case a team won them, credt to the winner.  The blame game should not be played by fans, we are amatures with a teaspoon full of information usually trying to appear smart, usually with the opposite result. Figure out which way you are appearing.

I've supported the team against those who bitched that they were playing nothing but patsies and I've criticized them when the best efforts -- on the field or on the sidelines -- weren't there.  Troy is probably the fourth or fifth best team the Cats will have faced this year, so they'll need their A game.  That hasn't been seen since about the third quarter of the Temps game.  Troy will likely bring the same kind of heat that Kent did, so OU had better have a more effective response than they did against Kent.  Otherwise it'll be yet another post-season disappointment.  Not being negative; just putting it straight.

I thought it was a pretty good line.

Never thought about it until this thread.  The players have been home and not practicing.  Is that an NCAA rule?  No practice until a bowl berth id official?  Most schools have their classes resume the Monday after Thanksgiving.  Has Troy been practicing or is that not allowed until an announcement is official?  Has OSU, Wisc., etc.been away from practice or is this a competitive disadvantage for Ohio?

Nope, we could have practiced all the way through, with school not being in we could have practiced twice a day even.  What you are seeing is the budget situation at Ohio University limiting the practice and prep time for the Bowl Game.

I don't recall us making a bowl game during strong financial times, so I don't think we can make that blanket of a statement.  Simply no point of comparison - last year is not a comparison, because we were practicing for the MAC Championship.  I would venture our class schedule impacts it more than the finances in that if we were in session last week, the team would be practicing in anticipation and hope of making a bowl.

Our schedule of classes is what makes this a financial decision.  If classes are not in session than we have to pay for the Student-Athletes to be here.  Last year, we stayed less time than we did in 06' and this year our Bowl Prep (not counting MACC) is less than last year.

Two weeks should be plenty of time.  In 06" we played in January.  Miami has month before their next football game.  Lots of extra practice time for next year if they spend the money.

Exactly, our class schedule is the catalyst.  Semester set up is better (financially) for practicing.   Even if we were rolling in cash (yea right) our unique schedule creates costs other schools do not have to incur.  So it is not so much a reflection of being poor as the class schedule.

No, but we are still poor, regardless of how you shake it.
