The Bobcats are getting an iPod touch, ring and an allotment of approxiamately $80 for spending money. Meanwhile, the Trojans are supposedly getting an iPad and an allotment of $450 for spending money. Can someone explain why the difference in gifts and allotments? This same type of scenario happened in the Pizza bowl.

According to the SBJ both teams get the iPod Touch and the ring. Where did you get your information about Troy getting an iPad?

Mike Cunningham here.

Everywhere I see the 'official' bowl gift list has the iPod listed.  However several of the TROY players on Facebook keep saying iPad.  I do not know what the iPod touch looks like, but maybe there is confusion.  Not sure.

The difference is cash is an institutional thing.  There are limits that the Bowl sponsor and the school can give, due to budgetary issues Ohio University has once again chosen to not spend the NCAA allowable maximum on the players.  Not ideal, but at the same time showing some fiscal restraint.

Had a friend, bought a nice house and lived there a few months before the basement flooded. The culprit? Thousands of used condoms stopping up the sewer line. Glad I'm not Roto Rooter guy.

Reminds me of October, 1979, when, as a freshman at Ohio University, I took the Greyhound from Athens to Columbus on a Friday morning and then drove up to South Bend with my dad. Went to the Notre Dame football pep rally that night at the Joyce Athletic and Convocation Center with USC in town for a game the next day. Digger Phelps, at the end of his speech, mentioned that "we all know that there's no Trojan that can hold back a Cocky Irish."
