The PITT fan blogs are buzzing this morning that Haywood is going to be offered the PITT job today. He supposedly was in Pittsburgh yesterday interviewing and was the only candidate brought to Pittsburgh for such. Frank's favorite AD, Stevie Boy is really taking some shots on the PITT blogs for how in their eyes he has mis-handled the "coaching search".  Lots of them are up in arms about how he could fire a "successful" coach and have no godly idea who he was going to replace him with. The fact that hated rival, WVU, appears to have jumped the shark and hired the hot IT assistant coach from Oklahoma State to be their head coach in waiting, only has the PITTers more fired up.

Soryy for the double post. I didn't think the first one went thru, as my computer is not performing up to standards with this cold weather.

That really hurts Miami's rebuilding program. I will say rebuilding because yes they won the MAC but it was by luck. Next year quite a few key seniors graduate from that team replaced by a new coach isn't the greatest news for them. Ohio looks good in the MAC East next year with both Miami, Kent, and Temple coming to Peden with new HC's.

Which is why 2011 looks so good for Ohio...Taking into account our schedule and all the coaching changes (critical examples in both divisions) things are setting up very nicely for us...

Miami fans seem to think he's gone.

Haywood: Winless against Ohio as a head coach.

Miami will hire a good coach, maybe one who wants to recruit Ohio even.

Haywood seems to fit that Tomlin/Cower vibe that works well in the city of Pittsburg.

Sometimes I get frustrated when I think about our coach, he's given us what we hoped for (consistent contender in the MAC, bowl eligibility, a team that competes), but not what we wished for (Championships, Bowl wins, top 25 rankings). But when I look at the turnover that's gone on in the MAC since Frank came to OHIO I'm glad we have a quality coach that has little to know chance of jumping ship. That kind of certainity is rare in this conference.

Sure, Miami wont the MACC this year, but going from1-11 last year, to MAC Champ this year, to who knows what next year is a lot of drama for players and fans to deal with.

It's amazing what a single debacle game out of OUr Cats and a deflected Hail Mary on 4th and 20 in the MACC can do for one's career...
