Just a bit of advice on the airport in NO. It is very small and cramped and be prepared to carpool with as many people as possible downtown because the taxi charge one flat rate for a trip (it's not cheap) as it's quite a hike.

When will the team leave for New Orleans?  Will they fly out of Columbus?

I'm not sure if travel plans are finalized at this point. The team used to typically fly out of Rickenbacker in Columbus, but that was several years ago. I suppose things could have changed since then.

If anyone is looking to stay in a smaller Inn/B&B my wife and I stayed here in October and loved it: http://www.lamaisonmarigny.com/. It was fairly cheap, too (around $130). It's on Bourbon, but just off the Quarter by a block in the Marigny neighborhood (near Frenchman St). We walked everywhere from here.

Also, check out http://www.airboatadventures.com/. We had the best time on a swamp tour. They come to your hotel and pick you up and drive you out to the swamp. We did the airboat, which was more expensive, but a lot more fun than the big tour boat.

Food:
K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen was outstanding http://www.chefpaul.com/kpaul
Port-of-Call has the best burger ever http://portofcallnola.com/
Marigny Brasserie - great place for brunch http://www.marignybrasserie.com/

Music:
If you want to get off Bourbon St head over to Frenchman St in the Marigny. It's one of the best spots for live music, and where a lot of locals go. We saw a great show at the Blue Nile. Spotted Cat and Snug Harbor are good, too, and D.B.A. has a huge beer selection.

Also, if you get a chance take the street car out St. Charles Ave through the Garden District. You can take it all the way out to where Loyola and Tulane are located - it's a very nice ride. If you go out there on Sunday at the very end of the line is fun place to watch NFL games. It's called http://www.cooterbrowns.com/ and it has all the games on. We watched the Bengals-Browns game there, but be prepared because there are a lot of Steelers fans.

Just a heads up, I was able to book the Best Western St. Christopher (4 stars) for $156 total for two ppl in a standard room using hotels.com and the travel code BEMERRY10.  Didn't get charged for my 2nd person, also get free continental breakfast, and I will be right off Canal St.

I posted this earlier in this thread: Also, check out http://www.airboatadventures.com/. We had the best time on a swamp tour. They come to your hotel and pick you up and drive you out to the swamp. We did the airboat, which was more expensive, but a lot more fun than the big tour boat.

Check out the videos on ohiobobcats.com if you want to see what it looks - they posted one today of the same swamp tour). If you go ask for Capt. Lou he was great.
