Eleven years ago they were a good G5 team. Then they moved to the B12 after it was gutted by the B10 and the SEC. In 10 days they'll be playing for the national championship. A toast to the Frogs.

Well I was wrong and will happily eat my words. Glad we don't have another week of osu hype at least.

Enjoyed ESPN cameras showing UM fans' sullen faces at end of their game today. . . only thing better was ESPN cameras showing the reactions of adult bucknut fans with painted faces and buckeye necklaces at the end of their game.

Just think if OSU had won there would be 2 teams playing for a National Championship that didn’t win their conference championship

Demographics on their side. The population of Texas has increased from 17 million in 1990 to 30 million today. Considering Ohio doesn't have even 12 million Texas has added more than an Ohio worth of population to their state.

TCU's story is rather incredible. They were a member of the old Southwest conference, one of the best in college football at the time. The conference disbands when most members join the new Big XII (and Arkansas to the SEC). They then join the WAC and for 27 years they work themselves back up from the WAC, to Conference USA, to the Moutain West and finally back with former mates in the Big XII. They are the one true winner (they and Utah probably) amongst all this conference realignment.

Wasn't an undefeated TCU Fiamied over for the O$U, which was given the nod to play in the National Championship quest? The year O$U behind their 3rd string QB had a Cinderella story?

Correct. I saw TCU play in the Peach Bowl vs. Ole Miss (TCU destroyed them) and then made the drive to New Orleans to watch the OSU/'Bama a couple days later.

I'll agree with this sentiment and throw Cincy into the mix. The Bearcats had to requalify themselves for the big time after the demise of the Big East. Their story may be more impressive since they made the playoff without being in the P5. Now they head off to the Big 12 which seems like the island of misfit toys of P5 conferences.

You want to talk about a SMALL world?

Sonny Dykes lived with Chris Hatcher (also worked with Mike Leach at Kentucky, now HC at Samford) for years when they were coming up as coaches. Chris Hatcher got the head coaching job at Valdosta State... Dykes went on to be WR coach at Texas Tech, but continued to live with Hatcher. Hatcher's first hire on that team was defensive coordinator, Will Muschamp. Second hire... Kirby Smart.
https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/35378254...

Side note; What a fun and easy team to root for. 5 wins last year. Picked to finish 7th in the Big12. QB goes down week 1. Duggan gets another chance, comes in 2nd in the heisman. Keep being given no chance and stepping up BIG.
