Topic: Miami Sucks in Bowl Games, too

Watched the last Quarter of the Miami-UAB game. Once again Martin shows his keen sense of clock management at the end of the game. After scoring the go ahead TD with about six minutes left in the game, the Redchickens recover a fumble in UAB territory. UAB has only one TO left. After two running plays, which lost a net two yards, Miami has an incomplete pass and stops the clock, instead of running the ball to get a little closer for the FG try and keep the clock running. They then miss the FG. Don’t have time for further details but UAB scores on their next drive. Miami has all its TOs left with about 1:40 on the clock. They squandered their TOS by bonehead plays and with one second left heave a pass to about the five yard, after a small amount of YAK, where the runner is tackled to end the game. This last play with the Miami player lying on the ground so close yet so far from the end zone was in my mind emblematic of Miami ultimate suckiness!

Yeah, but the entire conference needs every win we can get. Unless you enjoy being regarded as a joke in FBS football.

Yes, I was rooting for Miami, but that couldn't overcome their suckiness.  I can remember when they used to suck less and beat Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina in successive years back in the early '70s.  But, today, they are just the focal center of football ineptness.

Miami was lucky to be in this game, turnovers kept them around. I thought UAB was very clearly the better team.

I don’t disagree Pete. But rooting against our own conference in Bowl Season is counter productive

yep, miami is certainly not near the same team that beat LSU the year we got plastered by them
