Hi,

I have been a long time lurker on this board. I am a huge Solich fan, and was beyond pissed when Steve Pederson fired him. Since then I have caught a lot of games and if I see a Ohio game on tv I try to catch it. I remember jumping up and down when Ohio beat Pitt on espn like 3 or 4 years ago because at that time, some people in nebraska trashed solich a lot. Since then I know a lot about OHIO, and have talked to a few of your fans. I find myself at times not liking Miami U now, and hoping you guys roll temple again.

You all seem to be very much alike a lot of our NU fans. Very respectful, and smart about collage football. So I am a NU fan first, but a Ohio fan second. I cant say am as passionate as some of you are on here, but I definately root for OHIO whenever I can.

Hopefully Nebraska/Ohio fans are welcome here, because I actually am going to try and catch a bobcat game this year, just because I want to check out the atmosphere. Anways, if we are not welcome, let me know I will never post again.

I think the proper ending to any post on this forum is

GO CATS, MIAMI SUCKS

I don't think we are in any position to turn anyone away.

Of course we welcome you. Now that you're in the Big 10 you can share the hatred for ohio state that most of us have.

When I was about 8-9 years old I began to be conscious of what college football was and how it worked. That year ('99) was when Eric Crouch began to blossom? And aside from FSU-Miami, and the most recent year when Ohio A&M and Michigan were battling for the National Championship game, there has been no football rivalry that I have enjoyed more than those couple years when Oklahoma and Nebraska squared off with Crouch manning the offense. Frank was my first favorite college coach, and for that I will always pull for Nebraska.

Now.. fast forward a bit;Nebraska has joined the Big 10 and I can't wait to watch them dominate the Big 10 game in and game out. I hope the Cornhuskers win every conference game for the next 10 years and I would love to talk about it with the hybrid fans on BobcatAttack

Most folks will welcome you with open arms.  Don't let any complainers scare you off.

I have a degree from both schools, so it's great for me.  We can talk both teams when we get together.  I will never forget going to Ohio/Missouri and Ohio/Wyoming games and talking to OU/Nebraska fans who came to see the Bobcats.  It certainly doesn't hurt to have a few more fans rooting for the Bobcats for whatever reason.

Ohio fans have always been friendly and welcoming. My advice, though: when you're here, talk Ohio football, not some other school.

I worked in Des Moines, IA for 2 years until this last November and there was a bar on the westside of town that had cheap beer on gamedays.  It was a Nebraska bar and a lot of the fans would always comment on my Ohio stuff and were very kind.   I've never really met a Solich hater from Nebraska.  Although that may be because they saw the decline Nebraska's program had for a few years after he was fired.  It is good to see NE joining the Big Ten.  I hope they wipe the field with OSU every time they play.

All incoming Nebraska fans must undergo the bobcatattack initiation ritual held at the football tailgate area. It is super top secret....but I can tell you it involves dancing around  certain effigies of a kangaroo and redhawk and uttering dark oaths  while balancing a bubbly beverage on your head.

Unfortunately, I have met several Solich haters who think he ran the team into the ground.  Now that they really know what running into the ground really looks like, most of those folks still think it was the right decision.

Welcome, by all means.  And now that the Huskers are in the Big Tedozen, maybe we'll see Solich's long-awaited return to Lincoln...on the visitors' sideline, of course.
