fully agree that anything on the Bleacher Report should be taken with a grain of salt. With that being said, for the most part, it looks like most of the bands that should be on the list are on the list but I disagree with some of the rankings. UMichigan and Texas A&M should be in the top10, imo. N Texas doesn't have the national recognition that most of these other schools have but I remember hearing about their band when i was kid growing up in Ohio. Really good music school. Any top 10 list should have the following- OHIO, OSU, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, Tennessee, and UMichigan. The exact order is open for debate, but never, under any circumstances should OSU be ranked higher than OHIO. Just because.
There are two broad categories of marching bands- Corps Style and Show Style. Corps emphasizes precision and technical difficulty both in the music and the drills whereas Show Style uses more contemporary music and complex marching formations are substituted with dance routines. If you favor one over the other that will affect your own personal rankings. The knock on the 110 (show style) is typically a knock on the style itself from those who are used to a more traditional corp style band. My high school was corp style so it took me awhile to fully appreciate what the 110 does and how well they do it.
It was fun to see the 110 go into Knoxville a couple of years ago and get such a warm response from the crowd. TN's message board had an 8pg thread about the band, with mostly positive comments.

Here's a clip of the show with a standing ovation from a home crowd that has a lot of pride in their own band-

we're very fortunate to have a marching band that is such a great ambassador and marketing agent for the university.
ps- here's the link for the rankings-
