I was surprised by how few G5 players were drafted in the first three rounds. I counted four, all from the AAC (one each from Houston, SMU, Tulane and Cincy). That was it out of more than 100 picks. There were three from 1AA schools (NDakSt, SDakSt and SacSt). Seems sparse compared to most other years but maybe I'm wrong.

It does seem less, is it due to ease of transfer to the big boys or just random?

It would be interesting to see how many players drafted from the P5 schools at one point played for a G5. The Bengals took a receiver out of Purdue who started off at Buffalo.

For the time being, it sounds like the new plan for most is to just go after the power 5 players until they are exhausted.
