The 2022 bowl season was one to remember for the Mid-American Conference, which watched its member programs participate in a handful of thrilling contests. Five of the MAC’s six bowl games this December were decided by five points or fewer, including one contests which went to overtime.

I think a case can be made that, with the exception of the Fiesta Bowl and Peach Bowl, the Arizona Bowl was the most important bowl of all, mostly given its timing. In the last bowl game involving the conference, if Ohio loses, the MAC does not win the Bowl Challenge Cup. With the win, Ohio closed the deal.
