We need an Illinois loss to Mississippi State,a Purdue loss to LSU and a Penn State win against Utah to win the cup. It's slightly possible!

The MAC's two losses were also quite small. While regular season might be all about the W/L it says something when you can play tough against another conference. Since 2011 Ohio is 6-1-2 in bowls with 6 wins, 1 decisive loss against ECU and two close showings against App St and Troy.

The Troy game I went to was a blowout but I guess that was the 2010 bowl.

So 6-3.

Would an Illinois loss to Miss St, a Purdue win over LSU and a Utah win over Penn State do the same thing? I ask because I'm too lazy right now to figure it out myself, and I figure that you probably know the answer off the top of your head.

USC is still in it. The best loss scenario for Big Ten and PAC12 is essentially knock themselves out and it doesnt matter what happens to USC.

Anybody know what they win?

Bragging rights or some cash?

Just bragging rights.

2011-12 was the last time.

Like so many "awards" from companies today, it's really just advertising for the company. The scholastic products business that I was in for 34 years thrives on these things.

That said, it is bragging rights. :)

We have more than the PAC12 now! Big 10 doesn't do well in bowl games either. We're one behind them. This year really hurt the Big 10 with their top teams losing too.

Not that I didn't trust you (ha-ha), but I feel better that it's now listed on Wikipedia! But, maybe a BAer made the edit, so maybe it's not official yet!

I'm cracking up at the comments. PAC12 fans are trying to dismiss UCLA and USC to the Big 10 early! 🤣🤣🤣

Seems like the MAC Bowl records indicate why P5s are snatching up top MAC players. Carson Steele to UCLA. I think Marquez Cooper could've done the same thing if he would've waited.

Good for him. I think?

Carson Steele was a world beater at Ball State. A true MACtion star.

UCLA is he going to be the focal point of the offense? Is Chip Kelly going to start running it 30 times a game? Does he fall down the depth chart? Is he a FB now just to get on the field?

Never mad at anyone who thinks they have a better chance to excel academically or football-wise, but from a football stand-point... this move... the 3rd RB at UCLA isn't going to the NFL, but the MAC's leading rusher is.
