Simply put, the answer is no.

We've only had one game against Navy (14-0 win in 1932) and only one game against Army (20-37 loss in 1996).

Something else of note, we are 4-21-2 all time against Central Michigan. I knew it was bad, but ow!

According to my 2009 media guide, the answer is no.  We've never played the Fighting irish in football.  Unfortunately, I remember when we played them in the NCAA basketball tournament in 1970.  But, that story belongs on another forum . . .

Edit: sorry Jughead beat me to it.  I was writing at the same time he was, but he pulled the trigger a few minutes before I did.

Do you Skype? I might be able to tell you how "]["emple struck a deal to visit Notre Dame. However, there is no suggestion how on earth Ohio could get Notre Dame to visit Athens...

And on top of that, we haven't beaten Toledo since 1988.  That's a rough streak against the Rockets.

I was at that '88 Toledo game. I remember one guy -- ONE GUY! -- rushing the field and trying to take down a goalpost. What was even funnier was the OU cops trying to get the guy off the crossbar. He must've greased his ankles or he was a tree frog. That guy and the "What is, Buffalo Sucks?" guy are the two guys I'd most like to buy a beer.

Wow, and I've seen two of the wins (one at home when I was in school, one on the road - Knorr's first victory) and one of the ties (Lichtenberg era, when we snatched a tie from the jaws of victory in the closing seconds).  It's been tough to be a Cats football fan.

Yikes.  That's back when the "Rockets" were still known as the Tri-motors.

The CMU and Toledo facts are astounding!  We gotta reverse those fortunes.

Having a previuos MAC Coach at ND I wonder if we could even get this scheduled. The Only places I would agree for the game would be Paul Brown Stadium, Browns Stadium or even Lucas in Indianapolis. This could be an OU home game like IU played Penn St in DC this year. Any thoughts ?

There is a heavily sourced rumor that Notre Dame wanted us on the schedule 2 years ago, but due to some constraints/decisions from the MAC Office - ended up playing WMU instead.

I'll let more heavily informed people discuss the merit behind this rumor, but the sources I heard it from were credible.

Having this rumor in the back of my head - I've always been disappointed about not playing that game. Simply put, you get NBC exposure in front of a huge audience + the payday. If confirmed that the MAC railroaded us, than I hate Steinbrecher and his lackeys more then before (which would be difficult).
