Peden 11-6  120 plus wins at Ohio and the stadium is in his honor.
Hess     9-11   Hess had several MAC titles and over 100 wins
Widdoes  0-8-1  42 wins at Ohio but couldn't beat Miami once.
Solich      5-1  37 wins at Ohio. 2 MAC east titles.
Grobe     1-5   33 wins at Ohio.

34 total wins over Miami now.

Pretty impressive for Frank. Even in an off year (which this isn't), it feels good to beat Miami. In the same way, losing to Miami certainly gets old.

I'm not going to say it's a be-all, end-all the way John Cooper's record against Michigan ended up being his downfall, but a good record against Miami should keep a lot of alums happy. I've sure got a smile today.

Peden, Hess and Solich will be the big three in Ohio history when all is said and done. Beating pretty much part of the job requirement at Ohio.

You've forgotten about the legendary Brian Burke.  He was also 5-1 against Oxford Tech.  Frank has now equaled his record; next year he'll be trying to beat Coach Burke's record and going for the all-time winning percentage record against the Redchickens.

Edit: Problem with Coach Burke was that his teams usually started well and then did a swan dive in November.  His firing proved the old adage, "What they'll remember is November."

Wrong sport for this board, but I can think of a coach that met his end largely due to an inability to beat Miami.

Yes but did any of them beat Miami FIVE STRAIGHT TIMES?

Even guys who redshirted their Freshman year for Miami will graduate having never beaten us. That is so awesome.

(Also for the guys graduating and having never lost to Miami, but I'm a jerk.)

Hess would have been the coach in the 1960-1964 period.

Some of those Miami wins were against teams that already mailed in the season. It was lovely to walk into Oxford and ruin their season in such humilating fashion. Haywood couldn't fire his team up. He told his players at half time you've never beaten Ohio and if you continue play like you have you never will. Players came to a consensus that if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Frank's  my hero!   No better  fall drive in the world than from oxford to Cincinnati on the two lane Rt 27 with Ohio decals on the  rent car and and my favorite t-shirt  of a Ohio Bobcat pissing on oxford hanging in the back window.  I drove exrtra slow knowing that Biff and Buffy in the car behind me would have to follow me and see the t-shirt the whole drive to Fairfield. Life is good!!!

I'm tired of threads about tressel and those clowns.  Don't give a flip about 'em.

If you wanna feel that BOBCAT FOOTBALL is right around the corner and to discuss how many consecutive football days we've put the beatdown on redhawk, then I'm all in.

If my math is correct, it's up to 47 years and 47 days.  In other words, they're due to beat us sometime in 2074.

Hmmm...Showing Coach Solich with 37 wins, I think you've shorted him 3 Ws.

Again, you've left out Brian Burke -- 5-1 against the Redchickens, before they were even chickens!
