Thanks......no surprises....a few tweaks.....Alderman is a WR and if DL Davis weighs only 215 then I weigh 135.

Hey Doc, any chance you can let us know who the walk-ons are and who was a walk-on but is now scholly?

Only place that looks thin to me is safety.  Any knowledge of a WR or two switching sides to offer more depth at safety?

Any upper class OL that might have been a stalwart HS defensive lineman that might switch sides to add to the DL depth?

Congrats on the weight loss!

I'm sure I'd miss a few....OL Seth Everhart I think is a preferred walk-on.....WR Adam Alderman was a preferred a few years ago so he may be on scholly.....I just noticed grayshirt punter Venham not on this list.....walk-ons scattered thru the roster such as safety Tyler Lang.

Probably a CB would be switched....only WR with much DB experience is Tyler Futrell and he was recruited as a CB....Xavier Hughes has played some safety...and the Leftwich brothers could play there but probably too valuable at CB......newcomer Mose Denton has the size.

Junior OL Matt Prichard is a stellar wrestler and at 280 should be able to create some havoc in the middle.

Congrats on the weight loss!

Last time I weighed 135 I was maybe 13 or 14....haha.

It is hard to look at this roster and not get REALLY excited about the future of the program. We are absolutely stacked on our lines for the next few years. We get Boykin for another 3 season... At WR we already know that Foster and Smith are great and if N'goumou is half as good as I have heard then we are set there too. As long as ONE of these young guys at QB works out then we are set to have a pretty good run for the next few years.

It's a good time to be a Bobcat.

Seems like far fewer transfers and JC than before.  I think I like that, but results are what count.

Looks like some new additions:
Seth Everhart - OL
David Fulcher - RB
Kawmae Sawyer - WR ran 200m, 400m, high jump, etc
Devin Jones - S Video and more

I have no idea if these are on scholarships, greyshirts, preferred walkons, or walkons.

MH55 tells me that the important thing is how early they verballed.

Seriously, thanks for the links.  Looks like some solid additions.

Where is Duke Price? He is a preferred walk-on this year (and a friend of mine, why I am wondering.)

A quick glance at the F's and the Redshirt F's tells me that we are prospectively deep on the lines and linebacker.  If any of these lb's can play outside, we're gonna be pretty tough at lb for a while.

That is a pretty good receiving core.  If we can only get them football and keep them healthy a full season.  I see the Bobcats....run, run, run, run, pass for a TD.......We got a line and the talent at running back plus mobile QB's.....we will run the ball, but when we do pass we got some wideouts that can make things happen in a  hurry.

OU's WRs are the new FBs.  Block, block, block, then the rare chance to touch a ball.  They better make the catch.  I am guessing the TEs will catch more TDs from near the goal line.

Blocking has always been a critical function of receivers, and their downfield blocks are often the difference between little plays and big ones. I have a hunch that with the up-tempo offense they are going to be catching a lot of balls, and laying a lot of blocks, so they will be very, very busy this fall.

While not new to the roster, LB Chris Owens is the son of former Bobcat footballer Jesse Owens.

Anybody have any word on whether Venham's enrolled?  Kinda scary with Hershey graduating this year and I was really looking forward to seeing another athletic punter take the reigns...

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing he might not enroll until after fall quarter when there will be scholarships available for him and so that he will have full eligibility remaining.

Speaking of Hershey, I can't wait to see that dude again on the field. They need to really exploit his abilities this year. If we are punting from the opponent's territory, Hershey should have the green light to take off every time.

If Venham is indeed a grayshirt, he would enroll in spring, not now.

As for athletic punters, keep in the back of your mind that Derrius Vick, the new QB recruit, averaged over 40 yards punting in high school, so down the road he might be an option, too.

My understanding is that our new offense is such that no punting is required.

Did camp open today...any news?
