When putting this together, we came across a couple interesting things about this Ohio team. First, they're really good, but don't have a standout player. Second, since they're so consistent, nobody seems to be talking about the Bobcats. In a lot of ways, this team emulates its coach. Lots of talent, but very reserved and go-with-the-flow.

With all that said, TMD picked them to finish second in the East and make a bowl game. There is no reason they couldn't win the whole thing. The one problem is that Temple plays about the softest schedule you'll ever see.

I consider Noah Keller a standout player.  Also, I have no clue who Temple plays, but if there schedule is softer then OUrs...  WOW.

It definitely isn't...

Conference schedule is identical, except they play Toledo to our CMU.  OOC, Temple has Army, Penn State, Maryland, and Villanova... certainly more difficult than ours.

Very accurate to say that we had no standout player--last year.

About that and the lack of recognition on TMD for any 'Cats as standouts, well, let's use that as incentive.

Let's re-visit at the end of the season!

Second is fine with me.  No bullseye on the Cats and maybe it'll give them something to prove.

As far as now standout player, I presume they mean at QB or RB.  Brazill is certainly a standout at WR and special teams, but a WR needs to someone get him the ball, and since the QB situation is up in the air (so to speak), that takes some gloss off him.  Keller and Moore are standouts on D, but it's the O that always gets noticed.  I can think of only one game in the past 15 years that was won flat-out on D (Pitt).

Temple's conference schedule is similar to ours, but its not easier. -

We both play 4 low performing teams from last year- akron, buffalo, ball state (west conf.), and bowling green. These 4 teams combined for 5 wins last year, 3 of them against each other.

We both host Miami and Kent State.

We both play head to head, in Athens.

The only different game is the other cross over game- OHIO plays at CMU, Temple hosts Toledo.
beating Toledo at home is harder than beating CMU away.

TMD is predicting Temple goes 7-1, losing only to OHIO, and because that would give us the tie breaker, we would have to go 5-2, losing 2/ 3 to @CMU, @BGSU, and v.Miami.

I don't agree that Temple has a better chance of sweeping Toledo, Kent, and Miami then we have of winning 2/3 from CMU, BGSU and Fiami, even if we have 4 games in 20 days to the end the season.

Temple has no shot at the MACC without beating us on our own field. not.gonna. happen.
