Looks like Marshall will have a true freshman under center this season.

Yikes...True Freshman starting his first college game in the "friendly" confines of Mountaineer Field...Good luck with that!  At least it's not at night...

Reminds me of Dontrell at The Horseshoe...That kid was amazing that day...

Mountaineer field was the worst fans I have ever encountered!  That includes three trips to Ann Arbor as a "brainwashed" O$U fan in the 70's.

Dontrell played great that day at O$U until his injury!

I believe Kevin Kerr made his first ever college FG attempt that was right down the middle from about 44 yards in the same game.  Always enjoyed posting with his Mom Nancy!

My sense is this is the year we finally take Marshall having them at home. With a true fresh qb they are looking at a really tough opening to their season @WVU, So.Miss, @Ohio, Va Tech, @Louisville, @UCF. Talk about a tough start to the season. Then they have problems at WR as their leading PR/KR was just charged with 4 armed robberies.

Correction:  We have already taken MU at home, most recently on one of the best days I've ever spent in Peden, watching the 'Cats run up and down the field and ugly green jerseys splayed everyewhere.

That was 10 years ago. We've lost 6 straight games to Marshall.

10 years and time hasn't diminshed the enjoyment one bit, especially considering the lay of the land at that time.

Marshall has sold out it's allotment of tickets and will be holding a Pig Roast Tailgate sponsored by the Big Green and The North End Tavern and Brewery on the softball field. I'm looking forward to the game since I never had the chance to make it up to Peden in our MAC days.

Freshman Rakeem Cato has kind of taken everyone by surprise so far. He has ran this offense since he was in junior high school in Miami so he didn't need a learning curve there. Once his mind caught up to the speed of the game he just took the starting job from AJ and Eddie Sullivan.

Losing Evans won't hurt us as much in regards to the slot position. But he will be missed returning kicks and punts.
