Honestly, I could argue with Ohio as high as second right now. But, TMD voted to put the Bobcats fifth. Largely because the other teams either A) started higher in the preseason rankings or B) were a Miami team that will be giving Missouri nightmares for a while. This is a very good Ohio squad that should go bowling again.

I wouldn't read too much into Miami's respectable loss to Missouri. A loss is a loss. First games can be deceiving as sometimes a team needs to work out a few kinks. Ohio should be at least #3 on the list with a 7-1 combined record over Miami and Temple the last 4 years. The Cats could have hung 65 on New Mexico State but called off the dogs early in the 3rd.

I've never given much credence to "power rankings"; they're too subjective and are really no indication of how teams would fare head-to-head.  What matters is game plan and execution.  For a good example, see the Oklahoma-Boise Fiesta Bowl.
