I am still drying off from yesterday afternoon and evening in ann arbor. That was pretty bad. If anyone questions if the game should have been called you should have seen what rolled through about 40 minutes after it was called. Heavy storms with lots of lightning. Was supposed to last all night by the radar. I could barely see at times driving home. I remember well the Kent State game in 06 with the terrible weather and the lightning delay game there. Does anyone remember any other Ohio games that have had lightning delays or has anyone ever been to a game with a similar ending as yesterday's Michigan game? Oh made my first visit too EMU before the game. I can see now why they can't recruit, who would want to play there? One of the worst campuses I have ever seen. The EMU game wasn't played at all, they have free admission today, probably be the only way anyone will come to the game. Hope next weeks weather in Athens is better.

I was at the '91 season opener at home against CMU.  We had three or four lightning delays, which benefited us because we wound tying a pretty good CMU team.  The '91 OU team finished 2-8-1.

I can understand the problem they had in Ann Arbor yesterday; they could've finished the game at midnight but it wouldn't have changed the outcome and nobody would've been in the stands.  The lower peninsula really gets battered by "trains" of storms that fire up over Lake Michigan and roll through one after another for hours.  When I was 17 we were going to the UP in the middle of the night and got caught  in storm after storm north of Jackson.  We pulled into Mt. Pleasant for gas and hit some high water.  I was driving and didn't realize how deep it was and wound up in headlight-deep water.  The wake from a car going the other way lopped onto the hood and the windshield.  Usually those show up in July and early August.  I'm surprised they had one this late in the summer.

there was high water on saline south of the stadium last night also. That was bad. The radar looked like just what you described about  Michigan rain storms.

I remember that usc game also, can't believe I didn't remember it before. I don't think Cooper was ever forgiven for that ending.

If it had been a Michigan game they would have strung him up by his buckeyes.
