I have a question for the panel - not about the show itself, but something I noticed on the show...

What is the reasoning for transporting gallons and gallons of water and gatorade 1600 miles by truck? Couldn't we save a decent amount of money & fuel and pollution by making an arrangement in the city we're visiting? Arent' sportsdrinks and water available everywhere in the US, even the desert?

If we removed all the liquids, I imagine we could use a much smaller, lighter truck.

Mexican water is not worth the risk.

Huh? I don't think New Mexico "imports" their water from Mexico. Narcotics, maybe, but not water. That's why they call it NEW Mexico... cause they have potable water and stuff!!

I figure it's because they have so much other stuff to transport, they might as well toss their drink stuff in there too.

If you factor in a weight to cost ratio off the shelf, that other stuff needs to be transported - expensive and irreplaceable. Drinks? Very cheap, and weigh a ton.
