Someone please assure me that Ohio will not come out with a new uniform similar to that , h*** I don't know what to call that new wardrobe Maryland trotted out in tonight.

Some of the schools are going overboard on the styles and number combinations.  Oklahoma State has something like 44 combinations.

Someone referred to it as the Maryland flag on acid.

Yes....when will this trend stop....evidently, so many rubes out there snatching up anything different that comes along of their favorite school.  UGA-Boise State uniforms were atrocious, especially UGA's gawd-awful helmets.

I love how absoutely horrible they are. A guy on ESPN compared  Georgia's to Power Rangers. Its obviously a silly fad but I think its fun andd would like to see OHIO mix it up once or twice.

Maybe the old helmets with the word Ohio inside an outline of the state.

I'd like to see a throwback uniform based on this 1897 Ohio Chrysanthemum team look used sometime.  Ohio was not yet the Bobcats.  Several newspaper game stories that year referred to the team as the Chrysanthemums.  These appeared in such local publications as The Athens Messenger and Herald, The Athens Journal, and the OU Mirror, forerunner of The Post.

Left off this schedule from the college football data warehouse is the final game of the season -- a resounding 38-6 victory over Deaf and Dumb Institute for a final record of 7-2.

I like the idea of some different uni's but Maryland took it overboard.
I think Ohio would look good in just a different uni design. Same colors but change up the look. Add a little white to the mix, outside of the numbers.
A Green helmet would be interesting as well. Honestly though, don't mess with a good thing.

I think we wore these a couple years ago (hosting BG??) when recognizing one of the great teams from the late 60's.

I honestly love our uniforms.  I think they strike a perfect balance of simplicity and modernity.  Not Alabama or Penn State boring, but not outlandish and overdone.

I love our uniforms, but we shouldn't be afraid to innovate and have a little fun now and then. The players would probably love it and it certainly wouldn't be bad for recruiting to have super dope uniforms.

Completely agree...I love how classic and clean ours are.  Don't get me wrong though, if we could afford it somehow, I think an all black alternate (replace Oregon neon Yellow with Bobcat Green and frame the numbers in white) with those matt black helmets would be a HUGE hit both with the players and over the counter...

these crazy unis tend to be one time events, not something they wear all season so I could deal with that for a one tie shot if it gets us as much publicity as MD got yesterday. Would be awesome to have a one time uni for either the Temple or Miami games.

Miami did something on a smaller scale for the bowl game with their helmets- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQwLJjRMag8

-1  I don't like the paw, never liked the paw, and would not like to see it come back in any form even for one game.  It was a rip off of Clemson by an SEC-oriented AD.  So many high schools have some kind of a cat paw, or even a dog paw print, as a sports logo that it's probably the most generic sports logo you can possible use.  OHIO isn't generic.  We are one of a kind!  Let's celebrate our uniqueness.  Reminds me of the popular slogan at the time of the Ohio State lawsuit against the AttackCat: "In all the world there's really only one -- OHIO"!

OK, I'm prepared for a lot of incoming from Alan Swank.  But, I can handle it, as I'm hunkered down in the my foxhole, or should it be "bobcathole"?

Well, I was speaking prophetically!

Seriously, it was the ACC that Mack was oriented toward. Don't know why I said SEC.  I guess with all this conference presto-chango going on these days it's easy to say something other than what you actually mean.

Yes, he was a Duke guy with a stop at NC State, if I'm not mistaken.

I was never a fan of the paw either. I remember how, when it was introduced, they talked about how it was designed by some local artist. Really?? How much design work went into something that is a carbon copy of the Clemson logo?

Yes, I also remember that Clemson threatened to sue us.  I'm not exactly sure what Mack did to get them to call off the dogs, or should I say "cats."  I remember that there was something published pointing out the differences betweeen a bobcat paw and a tiger paw.  While that may have technically got us off the hook in a legal sense, to me it was clear to me that what we really had was a knock-off logo.  The modern AttackCat is actually very close to the old sticker I used have on my VW bug back in the 1960s.  It was a Bobcat with an open mouth, fearsome teeth and a blood red tongue and the arched "OHIO" underneath.  If I ever find a good copy of this old sticker, I'll post it here, as someone once asked me to do.

I always thought the pawprint logo was a clemson rip off. I do like the white helmets with the outline of the state with "OHIO" written inside it, and the simple white with a green O
