Talking about non-Ohio players. What football legends have played in Peden? Like, Roethlisberger or better level. HOF or likely HOF in the future. I looked up and found that Moss never played in Peden. Revis was a finalist this year.

Tyler Palko.

Seriously, who will be remembered longer for their Peden exploits?

Khalil Mack, probably.

Antonio Gates.

Antonio Brown.

James Harrison.

Jason Taylor.

Julian Edelman.

Joe Flacco.

Jack Lambert was MAC Defensive Player of the Year in 1972. Presume he came to Peden once or twice. Game logs that far back are a little hard to come by.

Antonio Gates definitely played in the Convo. I thought he never played cfb but could be mistaken.

Joe Flacco... Help me out here.

Edit: Ok I see he played at Delaware, whom I don't remember hosting from that era. was he Palko's backup @ Pitt?

Flacco did not

Gates didn't play college football

Was thinking about Edelman. Yes, he was in Peden in 2007. One of the most frustrating games I can remember, but not because of Edelman. More their pint-sized running back who was unstoppable.

Figured Harrison is a probability. Forgot about Taylor.

Flacco was the back-up at Pitt.

Flacco was with Delaware in 05 when Pitt visited Peden. He was on Pitt's roster in 04 when we played them at Heinz Field.

Mentioning Delaware football reminds me that there's one fairly famous guy who once claimed that he played football at Peden Stadium as a Blue Hen against the Bobcats.

Kent receiver, Gerald Tinker, Olympic Gold Medalist. And teammate Jack Lambert being the GOAT for sure.

Willie Davenport during the mid 60's. Did BGSU Dave Waddle come also?

You asked Peden not Solich field.

Bonus points for the Dave Wottle mention. Great video on YouTube of his epic comeback win for the gold medal in Munich in 1972. Well worth the watch.

How about Randy Moss? Byron Leftwich? Chad Pennington?

I recently watched that video---Greatness!

Off topic. I worked with Wendy Boglioli and got to know her quite well. Watch her, Jill Sterkel, Kim Payton and Shirley Babashoff in perhaps the greatest relay race in perhaps all of sports in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal.

Remember Kornelia Ender and the East Germans hopped up on Juice and looking like men in the women's showers had set the world record in their heat before the finals. Enjoy the video! Actually, to me, better than a Tom Cruise movie for getting you USA upped!

Don Strock.

He may not be legendary but had an arm and led the nation in passing and total offense in 1972.

Moss did not play in Peden. (may be wrong on that, but don't believe he did). Leftwich and Pennington have to be on that list.

Just doing some quick looks on Sports Reference of decent NFL talent not already named:

- Seneca Wallace
- Chester Taylor
- Lance Moore
- Marion Barber III
- Laurence Maroney
- Matt Spaeth

*side bar those early 2000s Minnesota teams would run all over your ass and still go 7-5.

- Brandon Marshall
- Matt Prater
- David Garrard

Randy Gradishar, All Pro and Pro bowl and yes OSU. Game was fall 1970 OSU freshman team vs OU (freshman were ineligible for varsity). OSU won 16-3 but it was 6-3 at half and I believe OSU could have been no. 1 in the country because it was the first or second week of the season. I remember because I made the tackle on the opening kickoff and probably the only one I made all year.

Yeah, Moss did not. His first year he was on one of the best 1AA teams that ever was. The second was in Huntington because Ohio was the opponent in the game where caught a deep ball for a touchdown and threw the ball over the bleachers and into the McDonald's parking lot. Then he declared for the draft.

Fascinating info on that 1970 freshman game. That could be easily overlooked.

I believe that Todd Snyder once told me that his freshman team beat O$U's freshman team. Am I remembering this correctly? Don't know where the game was played. If it was played in Athens, I'm sure that there were some studs on the field in addition to Todd and Cleve.

Todd Snyder & Cleve Bryant as OU players seen on the field In Peden Stadium. Best pitch and catch duo in Bobcat history.
