I was really impressed with the student turnout, though. People in O-Zone shirts filled half of the one side of the stadium (and the bands filled the other).

This bodes very well for the Terd game!

It also brings back to the forefront a decision I still can't wrap my head around...Why in the name of all that's Holy are we still sheltering opposing benches on the Tower sideline?  And in closer to their crowd no less...I swear the Akron game (that sent us to the MACC game a few years back) should have been proof positive to the powers that be that visitors should be forced to bench in front of the O Zone!  I guarantee they'd be truly "Relentless" given the opportunity to hound the Terd bench Saturday night!

Why we give away such a large component of home field advantage is beyond me...

The answer is easy: It's a MAC rule, instituted a few years ago.

Instituted because of the O Zone, I believe....or at least that's what I was told.

The legend is that an opposing player had his helmet off and was struck squarely in the noggin by one of those little rubber green and white footballs.....at the time we were having QB problems and the kid threw a strike from high in the stands....I tried to convince people to hunt the kid down and sign him up.

Thanks guys!

Good Googly Moogly...

So bush (read MAC) league...

Don't get me wrong...Throwing anything from the stands is dangerous but that should be dealt with through security policies.  In typical wet paper bag fashion though, the MAC takes the easy way out and compromises competitive intergity while doing so...

This is probably accurate on paper but may not be really 'true'. Home AD's make opposing AD's give/sell back tickets by a certain date - my guess is that Marshall didn't want to be stuck with extra tickets, so in turn just gave/sold their remaining allotment back and has since been telling fans to buy direct.

I don't know if we gave or made Marshall buy their ticket allotment.

In any case, Peden will be packed.
