OU has designated a Marshall tailgating area in the lawn in front of the baseball/softball fields along Shafer street. I understand it is like an extension to tailgreat park but for Marshall fans.
I received an email from the Big Green (our athletics fundraiser, scholarship endowment, etc) and it talked about this tailgate. I'm not at home and the email is on my Blackberry so I'll just share the info that was sent:

I'm very glad that I decided to make this trip; it sounds like it should be a very nice time. It also sounds like your Athletic Department is very exicited about this game and they sure are making some nice arrangements for The Herd faithful. I hope next year that the Bobcat faithful will come to Huntington and let us return the favors. Also, CATFAN70, thank you for the invite. If I see your tailgate, I will make sure I stop by to say hi.
On a side note, in my first post I mentioned that I was hearing reports that The Herd may bring as many as 10,000 fans to Athens. I wasn't talking smack when I said that, but its nice when a visiting team can bring that many people to their opponent's stadium because it not only "livens up" the atmosphere, but it creates a financial windfall of sorts for programs like Marshall and Ohio U. Even though many Herd fans purchased the $10 tickets that OU offered on July 4th, we still sold our allotment (I believe 5,000) of $33 tickets that you sent us. So even if your athletic department only averages $25 per Herd fan at my estimate, that is $250,000 getting funnelled into the OU program and that doesn't count parking, concessions, hotels, etc. Thats good stuff. Last year when OU came to Huntington, and again I'm not talking smack, there couldn't have been more than a few hundred OU fans. Next year, after we have a blast this year in Athens, get your butts to Huntington and lets party down at the Joan. I guarantee we'll welcome you with hospitality and respect.
