http://woub.org/2011/09/21/football-blog-you-have-permiss...

If this doesn't get you going, I don't know that there is any hope.  I realize there is a lot of debate on here about our scheduling philosophy, but how can you argue with it right now?  How can you not be excited about the prospect of being undefeated?  How can you not like that we are already getting recognition with Top 25 votes despite our schedule?

I tailgated outside Peden on Saturday and I was there for the beatdown.  I have not been around Ohio Football near as long as many of you, but the energy, the buzz, the anticipation and the excitement around this team and around this program is at a major high.  I felt it in Peden on Saturday night and it gives me chills.  The last time I felt this good was when we ran through the MAC tourney as a 9 seed and stomped the Hoyas!  I believe I will be higher than that with a win over Rutgers on Saturday if I am not right now.

Have your opinions on the small things that the department does or does not do well, you are entitled to them.  Have your opinion on scheduling, you are entitled to it.  Regardless of all of that, this team, this program, this athletic department is headed in the right direction!  From improvement to our olympic sports, to improvement in facilities, to improvement in exposure, to improvement in football and basketball, to improvement in support, to relentless...OHIO Athletics is relevant!

Are you kidding?  We're fans, we don't need to worry about our focus, that's the jobs of the players.  We can overreact and look ahead all we want as long as the players are focused to do their jobs to allow us to do this.  Heck, I've been overreacting since before the Marshall game started when I entered Peden Stadium that night.  I could feel the energy of the crowd and the team.  This is OUr year.  To overreact even more, imagine if we win out and OSU loses one more....we may wind up ranked higher than them at year's end.  Imagine the headlines that would be with us finishing out higher than them.  Why shouldn't we overreact right now?

Ringo, I'll one up your overreaction.  How about O$U finishing 7th in the B1G, and playing OHIO in the Pizza! Pizza! Bowl.  We win, and then A&M gets hit with a four-year bowl suspension.  For four years A&M fans have that to remember as their last bowl game.  I dare anyone to overreact more than I am!

I would love to see that, but they might not even get to a bowl game.  NCAA is supposed to decide O$U's fate right before the game against Michigan.  Would love to see that but highly unlikely considering that one circumstance.

And I was just hoping for a win over Rutgers and an OSU loss to Colorado so I could frame the College Football Polls ranking Ohio higher than OSU.

That would be a really interesting evening.  On the one hand, I can imagine that the THE fans would be depressed enough about this season and the bowl "destination" to stay away in droves.  On the other hand, how bad would it be for that program (and good for ours or any Ohio MAC team) if they were outnumbered and out- shouted, too.  I think we're talking the biggest crowd in Piza! Pizza! history.

I've said the word "UNDEFEATED" more these past couple days then you would've thought was humanly possible.  There is a buzz in Athens...  That dream I keep having about a 8-0 (ranked) OHIO team facing Temple on ESPN2 in Athens keeps getting clearer and clearer...

OK: We go undefeated, sneak into a BCS Bowl, and shock the Buckeyes in the Fiesta Bowl.

I was thinking more like "ranking Ohio and not O$U."

Thanks for the very nice feedback guys and gals. There will be more like this coming, especially if the 'Cats continue to win. Also, when you read articles on our site, you can post comments in the discussion box at the bottom of the article (Hint, hint). And you can follow us on Twitter and 'like' us on Facebook.
