From Hueganan's column on Rivals.com:

Houston QB Case Keenum had a big second half as the Cougars rallied from a 34-7 deficit to stun host Louisiana Tech 35-34. Indeed, most quarterbacks would kill for full-game stats as good as his second half. Keenum was 18-of-23 for 279 yards and two TDs in the second half, including 11-of-14 for 142 yards and a TD in the fourth quarter. He finished 25-of-40 for 351 yards and three touchdowns.

Granted, Cato isn't Case Keenum, but there was still a lot of time left (more than 5 mins to go in the 3rd).  Hershey was just playing hard and helping to nail down the win.

It was appropriate because he was just doing what he was trained to do, and be cause in the context of the game, Ohio was making an effort to grind out the clock, not run up the score.

And Marshall was rushing 10 on the previous punt. Clearly they weren't ready to give up and were trying to make big plays on special teams to get some momentum. Why shouldn't our players do the same to keep the momentum on our side?

Ask Pitt against Iowa when they lost in the fourth quarter while Iowa scored 21 points. Beginning 4th quarter Pitt 24 Iowa 10

Regardless of game circumstance, it was appropriate because it was Marshall...

to the Turd's fans credit, the majority of them rejected the whining of a few and agreed that the fake was the right thing to do.

It makes me laugh that one of the guys on their board said something along the lines of "we're not going to forgeet about that fake punt, you better believe it." BUT they, the coaches, and the players all forgot that Hershey ran a fake punt in for a TD last year in the Joan! That was a game changer, that put us up 1 at the end of the 3rd for our first lead of the game.

Judging by the footage in the "Closer Look" highlights, I don't think there's much doubt Hersh was indeed angry about the "running into the kicker" the series prior...
