For those of you who weren't at the game or who didn't see it,at the start of the fourth quarter a man was taken from the stands onto the field behind the Bobcats bench in cardiac arrest.
The stadiums staff was working on him feverishly,but it didn't look good.

Somehow,after seeing these men and women trying to save this man's life,the fact that we were behind on the scoreboard didn't seem all that important.

This is a really good point. I heard this man died. The worst thing that happened to Ohio was a bad football game that really doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. We are all very blessed to be here enjoying football.

There are differing reports on rutgersfan.com regarding his condition, but we all have and continue to pray for him. A male Ohio Cheerleader actually jumped into the stands to help just as the EMTs and such were getting there. There are things more important then football!

I have nothing to say, just thought that this quote should get highlighted. That is called being a great ambassador for OUr school.

I haven't been able to find any update on his condition, but here's a comment from RUFanForever on the mycentraljersey.com website praising Coach Solich's actions:

I attended this game and it was very upsetting watching this man being worked on as the cart removed him to the ambulance. I thank the Ohio Coach for getting the referees attention to stop the game as, fans were yelling for them to stop. The cart needed to cross over a section of the field to turn in the direction of the ambulance. 

Once again we're reminded that football is only a game and some things are just more important.  Nice job, Coach.

The only thing my local paper printed about the game other than the score was that Solich had gotten the attention of the officials to stop the game so as to allow the treated man to be taken to the hospital. I hope that the fan is able to recover.

I know this is kinda interesting, but think we can possibly pitch in something at the tailgate to send to the wife or family of the person who had the heart attack.

Great post and a terrific idea. I'm in. I will definitely drop by the tailgate to drop off some cash. It might also be nice to know the cheerleader's name and include his name with the donation to the family (providing it doesn't break an NCAA rule). I do not know how involved the young man was in the rescusitative effort but it should not be ignored by the Ohio Athletic Department. I think he should be publicly recognized at a home game for his actions. Anyone here with some juice to get this to the front office?

I think this is better left alone. No doubt the cheerleader did the right thing and should be privately commended for his actions, but I don't think it warrants contacting this family--unless it is only to offer condolences or well-wishes.
Anything else just draws attention to ourselves. It seems a bit self-serving.

You may a  have a problem getting information about  the man and/or his family.

The press reports out here only refered to him as a "stricken fan".

Unless his family releases information,prviacy laws would really make it hard to find out who he is.

I think if we pulled something together and gave it to the Athletic Department and have it given to Rutgers for the person and their family it might happen. I just think it would be nice if we showed, OHIO Cares.
