Can't believe the mistakes we have been making today, turnovers, penalties, and just mental mistakes.  This is not how you play when you want to take it to the next level, so disappointing.

Plus the inability to cover Sanu at all.

Too many mistakes, yes.  Also facing a very motivated, at-least-equally-talented opponent on the road.  Sanu is a good player.  Not really a terrible loss, live to fight another day.

We always have trouble with tall receivers. The dude from Lou-La last year nearly beat us single-handedly.

4 turnovers and 9 penalties vs a BCS will not get it done.  Ohio could have won this game had they not turned the ball over. Ohio needs to tackle better. We couldn't get the defense of the field in the second half and when we did the offense gave it right back.  On the plus side Ohio got a nice game from Tettleton and despite the fumbles we put up 26 points and 400 yards on Rutgers.  We gave them 17 point off turnovers and that was the difference between winning and losing. The defense gave up that long drive in the fourth quarter. We cut down on the mistakes we are a pretty good football team. Except for the one receiver we couldn't cover we did a decent job.

Again, the four turnovers killed us today.  We were fortunate to weather the storm early when Rutgers fumbled inside the 10 and missed a short field goal.  But whenever we got momentum, we just shot ourselves in the foot.  In particular, getting the ball back down 14-7 late in the first half but fumbling and having it returned for a touchdown was huge.  We still had the ball down one score late in the third and Boykin fumbled after we had gotten a drive going - those were the two biggest plays.

It was also extremely frustrating that we allowed them to convert so many third downs and let Sanu single-handedly beat us.  He's a great player but I didn't see us make any effective adjustments - at least make someone else beat you.  Their QB didn't put up huge numbers as everything was essentially through Sanu and Jamison.

On the positive, I've never seen an OU team with such an explosive, pass first offense.  They are a lot of fun to watch and it was too bad the time of possession was so one-sided to Rutgers.  Tettleton, Dunlop and Brazill are awesome - I can't imagine how good Tettleton will be by his junior and senior years here.  Also, Xavier Hughes' father works at my company so it was nice to see him have his third pick in as many games.

I think we will have a very good record but no marquee wins to put us on the map.  Hopefully that will change at Penn State next year but now let's try to win the conference and get it done in the bowl game for once.

Good summary of a bad game.  Even with our turnovers and penalties I'm left wondering what a difference Harden would have made.

Harden doesn't play defense. Rutgers left 10 points on the field and still scored 38. If this team is to go to the next level, it's D can't get housed in games like Troy and Rutgers.

Well, I don't think Harden fumbles 4 times. Also, I think Carrie is the best shot at covering Sanu, and with him on the sidelines, it made it a long day.
