Glad to be of some help, since we have so many games coming up on the service!

36, no insider info there, just the kind of stuff only a total TV nerd would have enough interest in to know (which is in large part, I'm sure, why I'm here!).  If you have any interest in that kind of thing, the changing landscape of sports TV (Fox getting back into the college ring, Longhorn Net, etc.), I highly recommend Matt Sarzyniak's schedule website, blog, and twitter.

Oh yeah...Should have been more concise...I just meant it was nice to have someone on the board that understood (and as you pointed out...enjoys) the system!

Aha, i have it. It wasn't a popup blocker, it was a script blocker, Noscript. Even when I told it to allow scripts globally (temporarily), it still prevented ESPN3 from running. Once I disabled it completely, I was OK.

Thanks for the help. Marshall game is running now...

Don't disable No Script, it's awesome. I have No Script and still run ESPN 3.

Thanks, JSF. I agree it is awesome. I'm glad to hear you can run ESPN3 with it enabled. That means I just have blocked some stuff that I'll need to unblock.

I added "espncdn.com" to my whitelist, and I'm good to go.

I believe that the Rugters game carries the tag 'exclusive' on the espn3 list of upcoming events.  Isn't this tag the thing which only allows computer viewing but means that my cable provider (TimeWarner) will not be broadcasting the game?  (The stupd cow game listing was tagged 'exclusive' and I could only get it via the 'net.)

Sure would like to see this one on da TV.

That is correct.  If you have a laptop with a DVI out port and an HDTV, this three dollar cable will do the trick quite nicely.  Audio would probably have to be either through the laptop or taken care of separately via an 1/8in (headphone) audio cable.

Amazing to me that with the amount of Rutgers alums in greater NY/NJ that this game isn't on a regional sports network of some sort.

Is it going to be as easy to watch Saturday as the replay was to watch?

SNY has Toledo @ Syracuse from the Big East package (really our game's competition), Comcast New England has SMU @ Memphis at noon as part of the CUSA package, then New Hampshire @ Richmond as part of their CAA package.  YES and NESN are on baseball.

If you can watch the Marshall game replay on ESPN3, all you'll need to do Saturday is show up and around 5-10 minutes before the top of the hour and click on our game.

The game isn't on traditional TV in any way, shape, or form, so they'd have to have a computer of some sort hooked up to a screen to show it.  Not saying some places may not do it, but I would definitely call in advance, as this won't be as simple as hitting a channel number.

I do realize that for ESPN3 to come through the TV it would have to be streamed from online and through a laptop into a TV....but.....c'mon...in today's world of flatscreens with uber amounts of inputs, it really isnt that hard.  Simply run HDMI from laptop to one of the TV's HDMI inputs and BAM!!!! your in business.

The bigger question, which has been discussed at length already in this thread, is whether or not the ISP of the potential bar allows for ESPN3 access.

Just checking to see if anyone on here knows of a bar that is planning on doing this???

If not...then is there anyone on this board in the Athens area (student or not) that might be willing to check on this?

And heck, if there is a bar or place that will be doing this, we can all get together there and watch the Bobcats upend Rutgers!!!!!  Call it a BOBCATATTACK.com tablegate.

There is a way to cheat ESPN3, for anyone that does have access to the site through their ISP provider.  You can create a profile and in the account settings set it up so that you can access ESPN3 on any ISP as long as you sign in to it with your profile login.  There are directions online somewhere that explain this in more depth.  I've actually given my brother my log in information so that he has access to it.  But since this profile is also tied to my fantasy sports teams I don't give it out to anyone else.

I setup an espn account / profile but I dont see any setting for "access ESPN3 on a ISP"
as you describe  .. Where is the setting located what url (or link)?
btw there was a cheat you could setup a free at&t email / login but that no longer works
Thanks

Hey, I'm with you on the TV connection, but I'm willing to bet many bars aren't.  As far as ISP, that'd be a good question I can answer.  One alternative I can offer is that anywhere on campus with an IP that resolves back to a .edu can use the service.  Might be an option to try to find a conference room somewhere and get a group together and order in.  Wonder if the O Zone is planning a watch anywhere?  Optimist?

This is why I've been saying for years that we need to have OUr own national TV arrangement.

The peoples everywhere want their O-H-I-O.

Can anyone show us how do you use that "4 hours free" program?  I didn't watch last week vs Marshall, so technically I still have my four hours (not to mention at least 10 of my 15 minutes of fame)

Add me to this boat.  I have time warner for my internet, but direct TV.  signed up a time warner account on line and got this message:

It appears that your cable subscription does not currently include access to this content. If you would like to discuss your viewing options, or believe that you have received this message in error, please contact us at www.timewarnercable.com/contact (Message: QE12DCSN01)

any help?

cc, I just called them about a similar situation. They said no dice. I will be calling back and seeing if enough people can gripe about this.
