Kent's most recent winning season - 6-5 - came in 2001.  The next most recent occurred back in the late 1980s.  Ironically, though, Kent has taken the measure of Ohio - a perennial contender in recent years - 3 of the last 4 years.

Meanwhile Ohio has won its last 5 over Miami and has won 3 of its last 4 against Temple, 3 of its last 4 against BG, 4 of its last 5 against Akron and 3 of its last 5 against Buffalo.

Will that gridiron irony end tomorrow?

Sorry Mike, but a can of extremely pedantic worms has been opened up on other threads.

Does this meet the definition of irony? I don't think so.

Double word score for using pedantic in a sentence.

I think it does because it is the opposite of what you expect to happen.

Hmmm...My defninition: incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs.

What's yours?
