Kent has some diehards, witness for example what I believe is called the Varsity K Club.
I have attended two games at Kent - opponents were Marshall in the Randy Moss era and Youngstown State - when actual fannies in the seats might have hit or topped 20,000. For the numerous Ohio games I've attended at Dix Stadium, irrespective of announced attendance, I doubt if there ever has been more than 7,000 or so in the seats. At one such late season game in the Grobe era, I doubt if fannies in the seats topped 1,500.
A goodly pct of Kent students head for home on weekends and student support for football is negligible.
