Shame we couldn't take advantage of that fumble.  Watching the goal line channel on ESPN3 and saw the end to the Rutgers/Syracuse game that happened at the same time as Boykin's catch and run.

Rutgers wins on a fumble recovery in 2OTs.

Missed the early part of the game, was a penalty called on the person who chop blocked Neil? I ask because that recent call was pretty weak.

No it wasn't.  It's been called twice since then.

Are they looking at that play?  Doubt it will be overturned if they are.

Okay, enough with this nonsense.  Kick the FG on first down.

WHY IS THE SCORE STILL 17 TO 7?

We deserve to lose this game.

At least we our penalties are balanced.

Listless.  Given the field position and opportunities that we've had, we should be much further ahead.

they're going to need to dig deep in order to win this.

Indeed.  Foolish penalties and sacks to take us out of field goal range are not going to cut it.

great teams find a way when they don't play their best.  I am willing to wait and see who they are.

Those last two plays show a total regression to the classic Ohio U. of old...

Gee-- they figured out we'd probably run it with Bates at qb.  Great coaching.

Should have won by more, a LOT more.
I hate ruining the Red Zone percentage there.  Kick the FG Frank.

Very worried about the injuries.  Also can't understand why we weren't running the option much, much earlier.

Too many penalties, not many downfield passes, no two-back sets near the goal line.  We had a lot of great field position but got only 17 points against a team that has given up 48 to Alabama, 20 to Lou-La, 37 to K-State, and 25 to South Alabama.

Not good.

Not good at all.

We need to STOP running slow developing option type plays. They NEVER work. Or, we fumble it away like last week against Rutgers.

We have a good offensive line and good backs, we can just take it right to them. We don't need to resort to this option stuff.

I guess this counts as a win, but I'd be ashamed of the way we executed.  And what depth we had is gone.  We are not a very good team based on this performance.

Kent st always plays us tough. We got the win and hope that the replacements can step up for the injured players. We are 4-1 and tied with BGSU for first in the East. Lets go up to Buffalo and get a win and keep this train rolling.

Paul, every time we ran it up the gut they stuffed us.  I think the option would have been much more effective early on.

You have to be able to run between the tackles in the red zone to win a conference championship. The program hasn't been able to do that since Kalvin McCrae left.

Damn, that's what happens when your wife forces you to miss the first 3 quarters at a yoga class. :(

That sucks. I was really hoping this was the team that could run the ball effectively.

Please remember Solich kept our best RB off the field today -- Harden.  In the pre-game show Frank said that he was medically cleared but that he'd like to give him another week to completely heal and to avoid re-injury.  I'd say Frank made a wise move.  We get the win, and we should have Harden at 110 per cent for the Beefs.   Go OHIO!
