Ohiobobcats.com has an updated 2011 roster in the football section.....no major surprises...a few changes from the spring roster:

* Brian Albrecht from WR to DE and is listed at 245...hope he retained WR speed.

* DL Colt Buehner from Lebanon Pa.

*  Preferred walk-on OL Seth Everhart good size at 6'5"-290.

* CB Xavier Hughes "bulked up" to 171.

* Transfer DB C.J. Anderson from Ohio Northern.

* DL Andrew Pepin walk-on from Liberty Union.

I also don't recall seeing DL Dale Cotton from Amherst, Ohio.

I also was not surprised to see Vick end up with jersey #15, which he shares with Riley Dunlop. Since he shares the number with Dunlop, obviously he plans to redshirt this year. Anyone care to venture a guess why he might have chosen #15? I hope he wears that number well.

Since he's from Lincoln, that's my thought.

The parents of Dale Cotton attended the May, Caravan stop in Independence.  Coach S announced their presence and in the informal socializing, I recall them saying, he walked on in the winter going through off season conditioning and then participated in Spring Ball as well. Only a guess and that is if he sticks it out, even though he's listed as a junior,  he'd probably have three years of eligibility remaining.

Actually DL Colt Buehner is a grad of Mt. Lebanon HS near Pittsburgh Pa.

Anybody know whatever happened to Gary Fortune of the 09' class?  Thought he had some promising talent.

He was lost to academic reasons, then was sent to Hutchinson CC to get his grades in order. However, apparently he wasn't able to play at Hutch.

Played as a true freshman in '09, but I think academics kept him from the MAC Championship Game.

After transferring back to Nebraska, he walked on to the team there. He never was able to show what he could do because he was injured in a car accident, which ended his career.

Transferring doesn't seem to work out for the most part.

Donahue had gotten off to a brilliant start for us.

Usually not. On the other hand: Brooks Rossman.

He was a stud. Can you believe that THIS guy was our most skilled receiver that year, as a freshman?

He caught six balls! Brazill was a freshman and caught 16 balls that year. Clearly we lacked experience at the position and that's why those guys got to play. If he was on the roster now, he'd struggle to find PT. Times have changed.

He only played in, what, four games? I clearly remember this kid showing more route running acumen, toughness, and athleticism than any of our other receivers in those games.

EDIT: Donahue, Brazill, and Dunlop were part of the same recruiting class. Dunlop was redshirted.

I agree with shabamon on this one. I thought the kid had real potential.
