I'm about 90% that I'm going to head to Buffalo this weekend.  Anyone else making the trip?

I'll be there, along with a Bobcat buddy of mine from Chicago and a number of grad school collegues who, although not OHIO people, have no love for UB. Tailgate plans?

I wish I was going. Instead, my parents are going in my place rooting for Ohio.

My wife and I are in. However, I'll probably spend most of the game on the sidelines shooting photos. Hopefully there are some nice Bobcat fans who wouldn't mind if my wife sat near them?

 Ditto +3

Weather in the 70's.  Niagara Falls, Roast Beef on Weck, the Anchor Bar for original Buffalo Wings, Ted's Red Hots and Logenberry drink, 3.5 hours from Cleveland and 1-0 in the MAC Bobcats and this has the makings of an awesome weekend.  Oh, and seeing my son at 110 band breaks cool too.

You Democrats on here put a call in to Hillary to be ready to assist as the 110 will be crossing the boarder and the now Rock Star celebrity status received on YouTube may cause
 quite a ruckus.

Looks like Pops and Myself will be in after all.  Didn't purchase tickets from our ticket office though as we werent sure if we could make it, does anybody know where they stick the visiting section?  I'd much rather be watching in a section with people wearing green and white.

Anchor Bar is alright, but DUFFS wings are the way to go! Corner of Millersport and Sheridan, about  1-1.5 miles from the stadium.

Visiting fans can sit more or less anywhere they want. I'm coming in on UB student tickets but intend to sit in the upper deck on the opposite side of the student section (the west grandstands if memory serves)

Last week, I represented OU at a college fair in Buffalo. For participating in the fair, all of the high school students present received a voucher for free admission to this game. I made damn sure to talk it up with everyone who came by our table.

Ok, stop it with the chicken wing comparisons. It's purely subjective. It's just deep fried chicken parts with sauce. and/or seasoning. It's not complicated. Some people like them one way, some people like them another way. Everyone can handle a different level of heat.

I'm sorry, but a former OHIO cheerleader and our own C Money will back me up on my preference for Duffs over Anchor bar. Anchor bar is alright for walking over to for some after-work wings, but if you're wanting a serious, no-nonsense wing experience, its gotta be Duffs.

Duffs' wings as breakfast is delicious. Seriously...best "next day" wings I've ever had. Also, when they say medium is hot, they ain't kidding.

But Anchor Bar isn't bad, and it's worth the stop to say you've been there. The wings are crispier than Duffs', which I like. But the flavor is nothing to write home about, and they're not super meaty. And the sauce was too runny.

I'd give the edge to Duffs, because they were just flat out impressive. But I wouldn't turn down a plate of Anchor Bar's.

I'll be tailgating with another Alum (coming all the way from Chicago!) and a number of non-alum friends who live here (in Buffalo). I plan to have burgers, hotdogs, chips, and a folding table with some cups laid out upon it, pingpong balls close at hand.

I'm not sure yet exactly where we'll be...probably in one of the big lots along Millersport (Slee lot A, Baird Lot A, or the special event lot) although we may go for the "Arena Lot" (directly northwest of the stadium). See: http://www.buffalo.edu/buildings/maps/NorthCampus.pdf

if anyone is interested in joining the fun, message me (or heck, even respond directly to this post in the open) and I'll get you my phone number to aid in meeting up.

Any other tailgate plans? (The last Bobcat Bash they had here for a saturday game wasn't worth the price of admission and was a dry event. I'll not be joining in it this year.)

Due to financial reasons, if you drop by please bring your own beverages. HOPE TO SEE SOMEONE THERE!

EDIT: Upon further review, the Alumni association page regarding the official bobcat bash lists it as canceled.

We tried to Priceline in to the Buffalo area and was told there were no rooms at any price in the area.  Then we tried Pricelining all the way down to Erie, PA, and bid as high as $80, but had no luck.

Any suggestions?

Sorta late at night now, but...Niagara falls (only 15-20 minutes from UB)(can be iffy depending on the part of town), batavia (about 15-20 miles east of buffalo), even back in Ohio (Conneaught and Ashtabula are only 20-25 miles from Erie, if you're already thinking about heading back that far.
