I’m expecting a nearly professional report from the game by some of the more astute observers at the game.

Anyone have thoughts / impressions from the Spring game?

I know a lot of potential starters sat out per usual.

Nothing spectacular. I didn’t really see any field goal attempts. Quarterback play was ok. They didn’t really throw any deep balls . The running backs looked good . It looked like the kid from Oklahoma got more touches than Quinn. Quinn looked just as good or even better. They both seemed to be able to break around the edge. Linebacker and defensive ends weren’t really around.

Post mentioned Ricky Hunt might push Sieh for snaps.

I thought he looked good on tape, good sign of things with Allison coming back as well.

Feel like we've had to operate with 4 RB's since McRae left town.

I did not see any mention of Parker Navarro getting any snaps. Any news about that? Is he still hurt?

Was #26 on defense the Holy Cross transfer?

Yes, that is Walter Reynolds. Dude had 5 picks and 50 tackles last year. How did he perform? Could be a huge get for us.

He was all over the field and looked very good to me. Put a few decent hits on folks and I thought looked very nice in coverage. He seemed to play very physical in coverage.

I was impressed with Reynolds. He seemed to be good in run support as well. I actually had to ask a buddy if he read run that fast on one play or if he was blitzing.
Spoiled at corner Birchette is good. I heard Cox would have gone if it were a regular season game.
The d line is a work in progress. Mathews is really good. I thought Bradley Weaver was effective. It looked like the Schmitz kid was used a little in the McCrory role. They looked better than I thought. Obviously an area of concern.
Miles Cross gets open. Wiglusz is always open. CJ was decent but at times wild. I thought Cal Wither drove the ball well from hash to sideline.
The offensive line was good in the run game. I wouldn’t want to tackle Quinn or chase down the Hunt kid. Really impressed with those two.

Just random observations.

I think Reynolds could have a special year for us. Several of the newer guys look like they could make an impact or provide rotational depth for sure. Defense may be better than some thought. will have to see how they progress and if we can avoid the injury bug.

Offense looks smooth and like we are set up for a few year. Wither looked good and so did the young QB from Jackson. RB room is looking the best I've seen in a while.

Quinn, Hunt and Kitrell saw the bulk of the carries. Nolan McCormick played a few snaps but was limited. Devon Hunter has a few reps and a #25 and #48 also saw a few snaps. I don't see them on the roster plus there were a few number changes. Campoletti is wearing 9. Not sure of others. Any idea who #25 was? He saw quite a few snaps at LB. Was there a paper roster anywhere. I was too caught up in the sale and sunning myself.

It would of been nice to have a roster. I struggled to figure out who some were. #23 and #18 looked nice on defense.

the transfer from Hocking College was disruptive on the DL too.

That would Karlos Ferrier. #23 appears to be Ryan Logan, also out of Hocking. 6'7'' 230 DE from Vandalia Butler

These two from Hocking remind me that back in the day WVU had some small junior college that they kind of used as feeder to their football program. Perhaps, Hocking can evolve into such a role for OHIO?

After several years of real struggle, they finally hired a real football coach and are quickly becoming a real Junior College program.
