The margin of victory clearly came on a missed out of bounds call by the refs but I imagine we're screwed aren't we.

Wasn't definite he was OB. Besides, we were outplayed today.

Our defense was so f-ing lazy on that play. The also took stupid angles to the ball. They turned a 5 yard play into a touchdown.

What about the missed pass interference call on Levon?  Shouldn't we bitch about that?  What about the Refs not even knowing what down it was half the time?  Its hard enough to win on the road without having to deal with such incompetence from the refs.

I also want to say that I agree that our D stunk today.  They were clearly outplayed and outclassed, but I hate to see a close game come down to bad officiating.

our D was outplayed, but only because we had depth issues in our line. I still feel that if the refs call the TD out of bounds, that is Ohio by 6, if they don't call the horse collar, that is Ohio by 13, the Spear on Riley turns a FG into a TD, which is Ohio by 17. Easy to see how refs ruined this game.

The only call that I felt the refs messed up on was the horsecollar tackle. On the replays that I saw it looked like our defender had a handful of jersey up near the neckline, but not the collar of the shoulder pads. When the offensive player tried to pull away the only thing on our guys hand was the jersey. The other plays mentioned above didn't show a good replay to see them by. All in all I thought that we just got outplayed overall. Sure there were a few plays that we would like to have back, but the Beefs wanted the game just a little more than we did. I give our boys credit, they didn't give up and fought till the end.

I fault the refs on two plays: the "horsecollar" and failure to call a late hit when TT was pulled down out of bounds on the previous possession.  Either one could have changed the outcome of the game.  But the Cats shouldn't have been in that position in the first place.

But it was clear Buffalo outplayed the Cats today.  They had more fire on offense and had crisper tackling on defense.  They rose up and stopped us when the game was on the line.  Give them credit for being better than 1-4 shows.  Or maybe they were trying to get back at us like we wanted retribution on Kent last week.  We had won two in a row from them, including the last trip to Buffalo.

Or maybe its that Jeff Quinn is starting to make some progress with his club. Oliver continues to play this way they'll end up finishing the year with 5-6 wins. This could be the turning point for a resurgent program up in Buffalo. They reminded me looking at them of the way Temple played in 2008 when they beat us in OT. Poised to turn the corner but not quite there yet.

Could be.  Something that just struck me.  I wasn't that impressed with Chaz Anderson at QB during the game.  It seemed like he was dumping the ball out of bounds too often.  But as it turns out, that may have saved them.  If he had forced a few of those, the secondary might have picked some off.  It didn't seem like he was panicking; he just shot them out of bounds.  The poise of a senior, I guess.

Our depth issues on the line were an issue, but our embarrassing secondary play was the real culprit. They have been exposed.  Clearly UB's coaches watched the film from the second half at NMSU.  That's exactly how they attacked us in the first half.

blame the officials all you want....but our defense forgot we even had a game today.  Simple as that.

Well you guys have a good secondary and it was a close game. Why risk the turnover.

Now that we have a solid running game we need a QB to manage the game and make a few good plays.

Could you imagine if we fired officials for making bad calls? Would we have any left?

We were actually at the game and I agree with some of the comments on this thread.

The horse collar call was marginal.  After the tackle, I thought there was a chance it might be called.  But it probably should not have been called.

The defense looked flat for most of the game, but I think it's largely due to injuries.  We were way down the depth chart at several positions.

I think Chazz Anderson was very sharp for the most part.  He made us pay for our mistakes.  And we didn't get much pressure on him unless we blitzed.
